This particular example of the F12tdf is a very high specification atelier car, built as a homage to the original Ferrari 250 GT 'Tour De France'. Matching details include the Racing Stripe with Blu Pozzi Inner and Bianco Avus Outer stripes, as well as the interior which features the use of Azzurro Santorini Leather and Blu Medio Alcantara. All interior carbon has been rendered in a matt blue finish in keeping with the interior theme, whilst all exterior carbon, including the engine bay which has been signed by the entire Maranello production line, has a matt finish. Add to this unique specification some of the most sought-after options and this F12tdf presents itself as one of the highest specification examples we have ever seen, fittingly paying homage to its automotive ancestry.
This exquisite 1 of 799 Ferrari is named after the Tour de France, not the cycling kind, but a road race held in France which Ferrari dominated during the 50’s and 60’s. The F12tdf is based on the standard F12 Berlinetta except now Ferrari have track focused it and turned every aspect up to 11. Power from the outrageous 6.3L V12, which now revs to 8,900rpm, has been increased to 769bhp with the use of race-spec engine parts and the F1 DCT gearbox revised to give 30% quicker up shifts and 40% quicker down shifts. The TDF also features far more menacing functional aerodynamics including a larger active-aero splitter and the distinctive ‘Aerobridge’ features, just behind the front wheels, designed to increase downforce and force the car on to the track. Add this to the liberal use of carbon fibre and weight saving trickery throughout, to achieve a 110kg weight saving over the standard F12, and it really is no surprise that this is the second fastest road legal Ferrari to ever lap the infamous Fiorano test track, just 1.3 seconds behind the LaFerrari! Overall, the F12tdf is a naturally aspirated triumph and its exclusivity makes it a highly significant and collectible modern Ferrari.
