You’re an honest man and appear to be very skilled and honest with your customers. Your time has a value just like when your customers go to work. Hope they aren’t looking for a freebie. Let Ford know their part failed and is making you look bad and costing you money.

I'm pretty sure ford already knows the parts are junk. I get plenty of business from ford vehicles

Really obscure an unintuitive. Good job figuring out that puzzle. Thanks for showing us questionable engineering. 👍

Mike, I'd still be wondering. For the dowels/holes to get slop after being tight that short of a time later there has to be something else going on. I can't see that sloppy pump causing all those bolts to loosen and pin holes get sloppy. More like that pump input shaft is another symptom. OR the transmission shop changed the flex plate when they did the transmission and put in a used one (just because, they always do that because they had a problem once) does the owner still have the tyranny receipt? Maybe it says flex plate on it somewhere. Or a used trans that came with the used flex. There is more to the back story your not getting from somebody. Just saying. We have all seen really stupid shit that was "no friggen way that could happen". Keep doing what your doing. It's much appreciated. 👍

In that situation, I'd probably warranty the flex plate but charge for the other piece. But it's sucks for the customer since they had to bring it back.

That's why they call it a flex plate. But if it's not your trans and the pump is loose now 31K later it's loose whose to say it wasn't in a wreck and took sacrificial impact that wasn't apparent previously? I see your dilemma but you can't be solely responsible for someone elses parts. Good luck with the discussion.
