Great vid. Came looking for pillar light install and found yours. Noticed that custom sub, very nice. I also done something similar with 6x9 components. Loved it.

Where can I buy the wire harness for rear LED pillar lights for Honda 2015?
@bimmermac3 жыл бұрын
Hey guys. So the wire coming from the pillar light goes through the hole where the old pillar anchors into. The part that holds the pillar in place after you take off the nuts. There is a plastic piece that you pull out and the wire from the pillars gets fed through there and the black rubber grommet covers the hole so no water gets in and it lets the wires pass through.

Nice video. In some parts of the US we call those rubber things that fit into the holes in the sheet metal, and through the center of which one runs the wire (the rubber things that you used an exacto knife to cut a slit into to make it easier to get the wire into it) - a _grommet._ I see you have Virginia license plates. I moved to NC from NY state, but I still use the word _grommet_ for the rubber things. Is there a different word in NC? Could be. I don't know. I like _grommet_ though. I just like the eay it sounds. As I watch what you are doing, two things come to mind. (1). Looping wire. (2) Putting "permanent" tap on a painted surface. Forming electrical wire into a loop, especially if you have more than one turn in the loop, is generally considered a bad idea as it may concentrate any small amount of heat that is in the wire. Best to create a bit of a loop around corners, to accommodate, for one, temperature changes caused by changes the ambient air temperature, but not make it a lot longer than that. Will loop really do any harm here? I doubt it. But just so you know - the idea is usually deprecated. It is just more "professional" to keep any looping to a minimum, make it only a little longer than you really need to. Also, if there is a large AC current running through the wire (which it is not the case here) it can cause radio interference, maybe. But taping the wires to the painted surface? I didn't like that at all. If you ever want to remove the wire, you may not be able to avoid removing paint in the process. I wouldn't even leave _painter's tape_ (we called in masking tape in NY state) in place for more than a few weeks. The tape starts to become more "permanent" if you leave it on too long. If you didn't want to bother shortening the wire it might be better to attach it to another wire with tape or with zip ties, rather than taping the wire to the painted surface.

My plan for these it completely ruined. My 2016 EX doesn't have that hole where the wires are going through

Just drill a hole and problem solved .. and I’m surprised it doesn’t have a black hatch in one of the sides which you can use to run your wires through, usually the 2016 has it

So basically it's doesn't work with brake light when you press brake pedal right? Since you connected only to licence plate connectors

I know. I want those pillars to come on with brake and/or directional.

@@kyakfsh hmm thats weird. like with the small ones they sent an adaptor so i just use that. do you think the lights are to much power for the sockets?

todd, i got a pair of tail lights for my 2019, signals and reverse dont work, do you think its wired wrong from the factory, not the same set as yours
@raskal5493 жыл бұрын
Check the fuses. It's very unlikely that it's incorrectly wired from the factory.

Just have been waiting for your video what you made it. Could you tell me more about your additional red and black cable with connector @1:25, is those hand made or purchasing?

That wiring harness comes with the tail light kit.
