Actually it is lifted up. This year they even increased the lift from previous years. It's a tall hatchback/wagon. But it's lifted to appeal to the crossover crazy.

I own a 2014 and I do enjoy driving the car as a daily driver. I do wish sometimes that I get more leg room in the back but overall it is a decent car with good power for the cost. I know depreciation is low but I dont intend to get rid of it anytime soon.

I purchased a great used 2017 QX50 recently ans loved it foe a few days until driving it rough highway and freeway roads. Unfortunately the road noise is unbearable on long rides and now considering selling it.

+Torrey B Some people like cars that handle, are fast, and have steering feel. But enjoy your similiary priced sloppy feminine ride with lots of tech gizmos for you to be distracted with while you drive.

+Torrey B You think self-driving cars are 'dated"? Infinitis will cruise down the highway with no input from the driver except to periodically grab the wheel to avoid it shutting itself off. There are videos of people driving down the highway sitting in the back seat (not recommended) after disabling the shut-off feature.

It was far more futuristic than other cars when it first came out and I found it attractive then, as I do now. It still has a classic sporty, but modern look, reminiscent of the Porsche silhouette and nobody says Porsche is "dated." If the gizmos inside do what I need them to do, why do I care that the infotainment system looks the same as it has in the past? I'm more excited about the horsepower, which I could NOT find in most other crossovers, without paying $20K more. I was set on the Porsche Macan S until this got my attention again. In these questionable times I think I'll hold on to that extra $20K and give this one a shot...and while I'm enjoying it, I won't care who thinks it's "dated." I've looked over all my options. While I've had 12 years of driving Lexus cars, the current grille is UGLY and it lacks power. The Lincoln is lacking in sportiness and has reliability questions. The BMW's don't hit the mark for me in style, are considerably higher priced and they depreciate like crazy. Mercedes offers less power for more cost, has reliability issues AND depreciate like crazy, also. I was considering the new Jaquar F-Pace, ....until I read a forum page of it's owners. Serious problems, it has right out the gate, as a first year model. So, for now, the QX50 looks like a good choice and we'll see what happens with newer options, down the road.

@@lisawood3924 did you end up getting the QX50? I'm worried that it has a small cargo space, I've got an 80lb dog, but the rest of the vehicle really appeals to me - particularly the engine/sporty drive quality.
