nice vid. I'm on my 3rd year riding a 13 arctic cat m8 on trails and you can tune the suspension as much as you want but it will always be tippy and will never perform like a trail machine. Another big issue I have is heat.. It can be just like you are riding right now and my machine doesnt get enough cooling, with ice scratchers down. If you ride trails alot, be ready for a challenge if you decide to get one of these machines.

Thanks! Sounds like a fun sled! Always hard to keep sleds cool when riding in low snow conditions.

Over heat a lot or no because my summit does on the trails
@MattMcHugh2573 жыл бұрын
These trails were fresh few inches of powder so no overheating, totally would overheat if hardpack trail conditions.

everyone always quick to say “ohhh no don’t even bother can run anything bigger then a 136 track on the trails ... idk seems fine to me i plan to buy a sled with at least a 144 track. besides ice scratchers what else can you do to keep temps down?
@hakrihe3 жыл бұрын
Have you tried for example 155" Rmk versus 146"Switchback Assault or some other models mountain vs.crossover/trail sled? It is not all about the track length....
@MattMcHugh2573 жыл бұрын
Best way to keep the temps down is to hit the powder on the edge of the trail often. My trail sled has a 144 track but the front end is way wider, it's more the front end than the track length that affects how they handle on the trail.
@MattMcHugh2573 жыл бұрын
I've had this 155 3" track RMK, a 146" 2 1/4" track SKS, and a 144" 1 1/4" track INDY. I can confirm that the track length doesn't affect the trail riding nearly as much as the front end width. Wider the front end the easier it stays down in the corners. The RMK and SKS are a real hands full on the trails.

do you ever have any issues overheating riding this on the trail?
@MattMcHugh2574 жыл бұрын
Yea it got into the high 100's a few times when riding trails to get to the powder, would just stop and throw snow on the heat exchanger till it was back to normal operating temps. My brother has an SKS with the cooler and his typically runs 20 degrees cooler.

Just buy scratchers
@xGR1MxREAPERx Жыл бұрын
@@killaabeasthese sleds are missing half of the cooler and have 0 idlers in the bottom of the skid lol. Ice scratchers do almost nothing for trail riding these 2.75-3.5” tracked mountain sleds. You need to add a ton of idlers, full snowflap, ice scratchers, and it still isn’t enough for actual trail riding

Put a 3’ track on your 550
@MattMcHugh2574 жыл бұрын
That thing wouldn't even be able to turn a 3" track lol
