Thanks for the video! Did you fab that punch/"technical tap" tool yourself? Or pick it up from somewhere? Getting ready to install some on my 03 sporty and that would be super helpful.

I just got done replacing all my stem seals . The front exhaust seal was completely missing and all of the rest were just the metal shells . I can't imagine them being ingested so I think when the last person did the top end they just put it together that way .

I drive a 95 xlh883 i have a ticking noise everytime my rocker pushes done on my exhaust valve in front jog. I put rocker lockers in. Pushrods are stock but there in mint shape. Checked my hydraulic lefters mint shape, checked my rocker no marks on them. Checked exhaust no oil leaks, no gas, pure carbon in exhaust part that connects to engine head, and never been any smoke out of the exhaust. Someone said it could be valve guilds. What is your opinion please???????
@TatroMachine2 жыл бұрын
rockerarm bushings and gear tooth backlash cause a ton of noise when they get loose. loose valve guide and valve seats do too. try moving the lifter to a different location and see if the nosie follows it. tatro
@jonathaneagles73702 жыл бұрын
@@TatroMachine not rocketry bushings, bought a valve compressor taking valve off to check guild next. Someone had identical noise that I have, they said it was a lose piston fit. Never heard of that one, after checking valve I'm going to check that. Good thing about troubleshooting is I get to learn more about my bike. Question What do I look for with gear tooth??

my inlet valve stem seals keep leaking 3 rd set after top end rebuild inlets only keep leaking,what do you think?
@TatroMachine7 жыл бұрын
either you don't have a clue on how to work on a harley or you have some other problem. i would replace the rings and see if that fixes your oiling problem. tatro

Tatro Machine Rings are new don't have a clue ,and oil on the back of the valves,I got the heads assembled from the shop turns out inlet valve stem to guide are loose as fuck

just because something is new does not mean they are working correctly. this is especially true when it comes to rings and cylinder finish. even i have problems with making all my jobs seal correctly. tatro

would fouled plugs be a sign of bad valves on a fxstx ?
@TatroMachine7 жыл бұрын
more like bad rings. do a leak down test and that would tell you which one it is. that is not a compression test. look up the difference. tatro
