Today I can present to YOU a short Drive & Sound with the all-new 2017 Audi SQ7 with its 4.0 V8 TDI delivering 435 hp and a whopping 900 Nm at an unbelievable 1.000 rpm (weight: 2.345 kg) . Thanks to the guys from www.kuever.com I was able to test the SQ7 for a whole day. This sheer torque is made possible by the first ever electric Turbo within a production car. Where conventional Turbos need exhaust air to start spinning this one is powered by electricity meaning it can compress air BEFORE you hit the throttle. The result is an instant throttle response an low-rpm pull-through like never before!!! The sound of the V8 is already impressive for diesel engine but ist additionally enhance by an active Sound-module in the exhaust, the burble at low rpm is really amazing.

In my opinion the engine of the SQ7 is the sportiest diesel you can get right now 😍 The sound is unusual but not bad 😉💪

I think especially the low rom rumble of that V8 is unique...and inside sounds very natural, coming from the rear of the car. It definitely sounds better than the S8 plus, which in my opinion is a bit too quiet.

Klingt stark danach als hätte das Ding auch eine Soundbox drunter. Verstehe das nicht. V8 Diesel klingen auch von Natur aus geil, das muss man nun wirklich nicht noch nachhelfen.

Mit Oxikat, DPF, SCR-Kat usw. klingt kein Diesel wirklich gut. Selbst ein Scania V8 klingt sehr zurückhaltend, wenn da nicht jemand "nachgeholfen" hat. Der Kunstsound im SQ7 klingt hier erstmal recht gelungen, in Realität hört er sich aber sicherlich schon wieder völlig anders an.

Eine Frage wenn du dich zwischen den sq7 und einem gle 63 amg s entscheiden müsstest für welches Auto hättest du dich entschieden ?

Klar, der GLE 63s ist ne andere Motor-Liga, insbesondere auf der Autobahn wenn man volle Leistung fordert. Allerdings geht der SQ7 schon wirklich sehr sehr gut und dreht für einen Diesel auch wirklich sportlich raus, dazu noch der deutlich geringere Verbrauch wenn man schnell fährt und dieser Punch aus dem Drehzahlkeller. Der SQ7 ist das modernere Auto, bei gleichem Preis/Rate wohl eher SQ7, wobei mir der GLE 63 optisch von außen auch gut gefällt.

Hat ein Sound-Modul im Auspuff, harmoniert mMn aber sehr gut mit dem Naturklang des V8 TDI, verstärkt diesen einfach nur ein wenig....kann man im Drive Select auch abschalten bzw. leiser machen wenn man möchte.

Of course....the car is very comfortable and quiet....yet alot sportier than the 3.0 TFSI which I drove last year.

I have two Q7. One with 4.2TDI (2010, 4L) and the other is 3.0TFSI (2017, 4M). Both of them are chipped. The 3.0TFSI is faster from 0-100km.

A very good car that could've easily been a great one with more attention to detail. Some of the plastics in the interior are identical to the plastics in the cheapest VWs (like that huge part on the door or the center of the steering wheel). This car is about 100k. Really unnecessary and stupid decision by Audi.

Christopher Melville Wtf mercedes is known for their interior quality.... Audi is lacking a ton now on interior.
