I'm tempted to get a 2015/16 EURO 3 one. Better sound for those of us stuck with the stock exhaust, and they are available quite a bit cheaper. I missed the pops and crackles in the 2017. They seem to be much more muted. Can you confirm that?

Still one of the more comfortable 1000's out there compared to the R1, ZX10 and the 1299. Haven't sat on a 17-Suzuki GSX-R1000. I've sat on the new SP Honda and its not bad considering how small it is but I still find the BMW the most comfortable. Good honest video. Being a S1000RR owner I tend to agree with everything you said. As far as heat all these bikes get hot and are meant to be in constant motion. Not the the kind of bike to cruise up and down on main street. In all honesty the bikes are so more capable than 99.9 of the owners who ride them. Ill keep my S1000RR for now as the difference is not enough to motivate me to take on more debt.

I had 2016 S1000R for a year now, love it immensely and it is a great commuter. But I want supersport for the weekends. To keep the variety going I fell in love with the the looks of 1299 Panigale. I test rode it and absolutely hated it.. the heat up your ass, the sound, the vibration.. it is just not for me despite its killer looks, so Iam back to the obvious choice - the double R. I think I am going to end up buying 2017 although all reviewers keep saying it is aging and it looks like 2018 can be the year of a radically new model. I just can't hold off any longer..

Unless I'm missing something,,,the exhaust configuration of the 2017 makes it the inferior bike from the 2015/2016 models. Seeing this thing, makes me so happy that I went with the 2016, in lupin blue, premium pkg and the carbon tip SC Project. Cheers D.C.!.....

Amazing bike but the things a dont like regarding cosmetics are: the reflectors on the front mudguards look hideous. I dont think you could put a dark screen on due to the black nose cone, it just wouldnt look right. The exhaust is also ugly. Other than that an awesome machine. I do like the fins down the side of the fairing.

Yes the bike is getting a little old but, I think its a little un fair to compare the s1000rr to the Sp1, r1m, rsv4rf or even the gsxr-r. All of these bikes are "factory specials" and should be compared to the hp4-r. Put the s1000rr up against the rsvr and the regular big 4 Japanese and its still leaps and bounds ahead

RAV4. R1M.. ain't as good as the mighty S1000rr... Watch Hickman at this year's TT... Also 70% of the TT paddock run s1000rr bikes... Why.. because they are mega fast.. extremely reliable. And are road race proven... When was the last time Ducati won a TT..or Yamaha..or aprillia for that fact...a long long time ago.... BMW is the one....
