Normally drive a 2008 BMW 335xi but last summer I rented a 2017 Mustang convertible GT and I had SO MUCH FUN in it. Of course I was glad to get back in something smooth and with turbos like my car, but did I enjoy tearing it up in the Mustang for a while! Great videos, you guys! Keep up the good work!

The same way that you guys like clutches with different feels, people like mechanical keyboard with different feedback as well. There is a mechanical key switch called cherry mx brown in which you can feel the engagement point and it is silent but there is a similar switch in which the engage point is accompanied with an audible click as you press down on the key.

I know what you're talking about in terms of the clutch. My friend's golf R is like this mustang, kinda stiff up top, then it gets quite light mid travel. At the same time, there's zero vibration/feel from the clutch disc itself. My Boxster S has a stiff clutch that has linear spring rate all the way through, and you can actually feel the friction of the disc on the flywheel. Clutch feel isn't just how stiff the clutch is :)

I got a used 2014 Ford Fusion and realized I wanted a 2016 Mustang eco, which wasn't too much more . Noticed how cheap they were getting. Then I saw the last gen Camaro and saw a red interior and it looked really nice. It was loaded with a ton of features. While I like the classier look of the Mustang, it seems they aren't on the same level on options and so I can't find cheap 2016+ Camaros 2LTs.

First video I've seen from you guys - not too bad, and it's nice to see a couple of guys from the GTA do a decent review. Recently purchased a 2017 Mustang GT/CS Convertible myself. Performance package is unavailable on the CS edition, so no extra gauges. Which brings me to make this critique - a vacuum gauge isn't useless at all, but can provide some very valuable information about the condition of the engine. It is not meant to measure throttle input, even though vacuum will be altered when you accelerate & decelerate. If you burn a valve, have worn piston rings, or have a manifold leak, not only will the gauge provide different readings, but the needle will behave differently depending on the fault. Perhaps it's "useless" as a diagnostic in today's world of computers, sensors, and hand scanners, but you will see old-timers use one to diagnose an engine where there were no computers or sensors. If you own a classic car, a vacuum gauge is a welcome addition to your toolbox. In loose terms, think of a mechanic's vacuum gauge as yesteryear's computer code scanner. It isn't uncommon to find a how-to on using a vacuum gauge in the old shop manuals. While a vacuum gauge may be completely misunderstood by today's generation, it's purpose isn't completely extinct, and vacuum diagnostics are still valid on modern cars. It will likely appear to be a gimmick to many who opt for the performance package, but I'm sure a few people who heavily modify their car will appreciate it, and use it for it's intended purpose.

Actually there if they had read the manual like they said they did they would know that there actually is a digital speedometer. However for some reason Ford kind of hid it and made it difficult to turn on. The secret is to hold down the OK button on the steering wheel and hit the start button at the same time. Then you will see the digital speedometer. However it is pretty small and I believe it shows both MPH and KPH at the same time without letting you select just one.

11:35 The Vacuum Gauge is the natural aspiration equivalent of a boost gauge. Natural aspiration cannot provide any boost, so the most it can provide is 0 hg/in of vacuum. Natural aspiration has a very, *very* minute lag in how quickly it brings in air depending on throttle position... But otherwise yeah, you're basically not that wrong for saying it's like a throttle input indicator.

Ford actually put a helper spring on the clutch to get that feeling. There's tutorials online that show how to remove the spring and it makes the clutch feel so much better. You should remove it!

I think there is an uneven panel gap between the hood and the grille. Can any one else see it? Right side has bigger gap

I was going to comment very similarly, and you are correct. I say this because I purchased a 2017 Mustang GT California Special recently, and it has EXACTLY the same gap issue you point out. I was purposely looking for it in the video to compare - now I know my car isn't the only one. To be clear, because usually you state right or left as if you're already in the car, the panel gap you refer to is on the driver's side, and it is noticeably larger than on the other side of the hood & grill. There are other minor panel fitment issues walking around the car that a sharp eye will pick up on immediately. However, having said that - the Mustang's build quality for this generation is far better than previous generations. My car is new from the factory - this stuff is a quality control issue. If you think this is bad, you should have a peek at the Ford Edge. In 50 year's time when these become collectible, you just know some Mustang purist will be looking for the uneven gap to know it's never been tinkered with.

I guess so! I'm just not sure how you'll be able to have the tactile feedback from the clutch about when its engaging if it were on a perfectly linear input. Mechanical keyboard nerds talk about this kind of stuff all the time. I think what you really want is a completely linear play with a very short indication that the clutch is about to be engaged. In mechanical keyboards this is similar to MX Cherry Brown keys. See here: www.keyboardco.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Brown.gif
