fun fact, the 2017 hurricane season had the same slate of names as the 2005 hurricane season, Emily is still there since it wasn't retired even though hurricane emily in 2005 was catagory 5, and katrina was replaced to katia. Irene would have been the I name but it was retired back in the 2011 hurricane season due to hurricane irene (2011). This means that the "I" name storm was retired twice in a row, from irene in 2011 which was replaced with irma and irma in 2017 was retired again.

I am so excited that GOES-16 (formerly GOES-R) is going to become the official GOES-East satellite !!! I can't wait for the amazing imagery it provides to be officially live !!! The GOES-S satellite is now in Florida and will be launching soon, I missed the GOES-R launch but I will definitely make this one !!!

They should upload a full atlantic hurricane season time lapse every year.
