Besides the generic nature of the car, it's definitely a major step up from the Equus and at less than $75,000, the most substantial "hyundai" ever built.
This car is gorgeous. I like it more than the Lexus LS.
It's more spacious than the Jaguar XJ-L.
while it definitely isn't as substantial as the 7-series or S550 for 2016, it's definitely an awesome car with excellent amenities.

The title says Hyundai Genesis G90. Genesis went from being a sub-brand to it's own brand, the luxury brand for Hyundai. The make is Genesis and the model is G90, not Hyundai Genesis G90.

This is a Genesis G90. Genesis is a sub brand of Hyundai. Calling it a Hyundai Genesis G90 is not accurate. The Genesis G90 and Genesis G80 are based off the Hyundai Genesis. Hyundai owns Genesis but there is some separation of brand.

I like this better than the Cadillac CT6! Mainly the interior design and layout. To me, the G90 is a better American luxury sedan than the Caddy! It's more spacious, comfortable to drive, and has a V8 option! Just like the old Cadillacs of yesteryear.

Sorry for my fury, it was misplaced. So what do you think about the handling and ride of this auto? I've heard the ride is absolutely incredible, even compared to cars that sell for 100K and more. It's supposedly damped very well, returning a VERY supple ride. I'm anxious to drive it.

Glen Daly It's definitely a better, more refined car than several others I could name. Hyundai understands the American market and our demands. They are building world class cars.

Genesis is doing a great job I hope they continue to do this and make everything standing on their cars this will put BMW Mercedes Aldi Cadillac Chrysler all on notice that they have to do better and they have to provide more technology for less money in addition I would like to see Genesis offer night vision massaging seats autonomous driving where the car can park itself

You know what rear seat you would probably like the size of is the Toyota Avalon. I know it's not a hell of a lot to look at, but it's a wonderful car at a good price point and is very roomy.

I believe Genesis will be a brand that will be a great competitor in the coming years engineers from BMW, Audi, Mercedes, designers from Bentley, Bugatti I see them beginning a force they are learning fast.

You have always been high on the Genesis , even from the 2012-13 model you were impress with it. Would you say a fully loaded 2012-13 genny is better than a 2016 Honda Accord ?

One is luxury, one is not. However, I'd still go with the Accord. Save your money, work hard and purchase a Genesis or luxury car when you afford to get it new. Then you know you've "made it". People who purchase used luxury cars look desperate. Go for the new model you can afford.

mikexcanxjerk Yeah right, I'm pretty sure if everything being equal, and he could chose either one, he'd go for a new S4. Either you can afford a new luxury car, or you can't. As to the Accord, its a solid option, one of the best selling cars in the USA, I'd rather get something with a better body style, however, I'd choose the Mazda 6. It's p. slick.

Yeah but Mazda engine is a bit slow for my taste no turbo charged 4 cylinder , and even v6 .. there's ppl who buy older luxury cars , it's nothing bad , it's what they can afford on their price , I've seen ppl who bought the older S class(2011-13) which wasn't bad , detailed with nice rims , and suitable for their price range .. sometimes I even see ppl buying the older c class like the 2013-14 model one .. some luxury cars even being slightly old still looks pretty good .. your statement makes me wonder like "???" Besides the new Honda Accord everyone and their mom drives it , you won't stand out ..

S-class is STILL NUMBER ONE - but it's more expensive than this. BMW -7 is very attractive - but feels like a regular car. The seats are very nice and cushy though. Lexus LS - UGLY AS FUCK...no thank you. Audi A8 - milquetoast. Lincoln Continental - NICE but TOO GODDAMN SMALL Cadillac CT6 - NICE but feels cheap and doesn't have enough headroom (just like the Lincoln Continental). THE G90 is BETTER for the price than the Cadillac CT6 and the Continental. You can get it with an optional Naturally Aspirated V8. Honestly, the Twin Turbo V6 is "enough" and feels very strong. I just demand cheese with my wine.

The new Ls is the new king in this segment, best exterior looks, great classy interior with a modern design that beats the s class and all rivals in the segment. Can't wait to see that car end of the year.

It's interesting that a panoramic sunroof isn't an option on the G90, but it is on the G80. 🤔🤔

TheLuismondo They are two different brands. The Hyundai brand sells regular cars while the Genesis brand sells luxury cars. Ex: Nissan and Infiniti, Toyota and Lexus, Honda and Acura, Ford and Lincoln, Chevrolet and Cadillac, Volkswagen and Audi, etc.

Genesis is still a Hyundai product (Hyundai owns Genesis), just as Lexus is a Toyota product (Toyota owns Lexus). This makes absolutely no sense: "This is not a fuckin Hyundai, this is Genesis. I would buy this g90 over disguised luxury Toyota (Lexus) anyday!!"

Right now, I fear the industry is shifting towards the minimalism of Tesla. Look at the new Mercedes S-class and Volvo Polestar. Tesla is Tesla and the rest of em need to stop copying. I LOVE the W222 interior. I LOVE the expansive displays and the control surfaces in the W222.

i agree with you genesis knows the us market mayyy more than caddilac, but i am also disappointed in the g90 in terms of the lack of the moon roof, and also compared to the equus which this replaces, the equus had a larger back seat, which was more s class like

As a person who have a little knowledge of and owned numerous cars and motorcycles it’s apparent you Have very little insight about the products your reviewing and u-tubers are looking for an unbiased opinion and what there are getting is somebody who thinks he’s reviews are the gospel. You should at least open your videos with the disclaimer of (This review is for entertainment purposes only) but I do respect the fact that you do enjoy cars and share with us that love, and for that I give you much respect. Turn that narcissism in to passion do some research respect all manufactures (Its a Genesis) you don’t have to like them and you can become one dam good reviewer hell I’ll probably even subscribe. That name badge holds a lot of equity. Objectively: the Genesis G80 and G90 are fantastic, uncompromisingly large, technologically modern luxury cars that check more boxes than the vast majority of cars on the market - at a reasonable pricepoint. Subjectively: they are just "guzzied up Hyundais". The G90's steering is far better than the G90 and it feels just as good as an Audi A8. Unfortunately, it still doesn't feel as perfect as the old Mercedes W221 - which is still an amazing "experience" - beyond just being a luxury car.

A completely unprofessional comment; Genesis did not venture into any new style or dimension. It simply followed the leaders and copied it well. Don't try knocking down Cadillac. Cadillac has the balls to venture into new styles and dimensions.

Agreed. Its a sub brand of Hyundai - looking to produce more revenue. I owned a Hyundai product and they are garbage. Cadillac is by far more innovative and has come a long way.

I agree his knowledge of this car is poor. The bells and whistles are in the 5.0 ultimate and the 2018 ultimate has the full led lights and tv screens in the back with cd/ DVD player in glove compartment. Not a blue ray player. Shame on you Genesis. Overall I love this car. I have one. Peace.

There's no such thing as a Hyundai Genesis G90. There is a Genesis G90 though. People need to realize Hyundai and Genesis are separate brands. You wouldn't say a Toyota Lexus LS500 or a Honda Acura TLX, right?

This is a new car brand company. This is not a fuckin Hyundai anymore. Hyundai is a parental company of Genesis. We don't fuckin call Lexus a 'Toyota' nor Audi a 'VW'. Get to the reality, man. You could slap Cadillac CT6, or Lincoln Continenal on the G90 and they'd be better cars than they currently are. Cadillac and Lincoln are doubling down on technology and advertising "lap times" that no one really cares about. Meanwhile, Hyundai is building a grand touring car with the size and finish it needs to have. Only problem is that Hyundai is an extremely generic brand and "Genesis" isn't much better. These cars won't be desireable till rappers are coveting them.

I think if they want to charge 70k+, as a Hyundai, it should have a standard v8 or something with at least 400hp, the ls460 starts at 72 with a standard v8. Although the Lexus platform is very old (2007), it's engine was head of its class in 2007, producing 380hp at the time. If they are trying to compete with an s class with its 4.7 liter twin-turbo v8 that produces 450hp+ STANDARD. The ct6 and continental don't compete with this or the s550. Both those options are simply a more modern town car. With that being said, Hyundai has much improved. Great review!

SuperHollowfied "genesis" is another name as it stands now, it hasn't built up any brand reputation like Lexus has, therefore I call it a Hyundai. There is no sophisticated dealer network either in terms of genesis you are still going to a Hyundai dealer if you want this car, where you could also purchase an accent. Whereas, Lexus has its own sophisticated dealer network, which isn't next to a Toyota or in a Toyota dealership. In essence what I'm trying to say is that the g90 needs to be a cut above if they want to compete.

ibeastly I completely agree with you with the exception of how you feel Genesis is doesn't make it fact. It went from being a sub-brand in the Hyundai lineup that spawned a couple of models to becoming it's own brand in 2015. As customers purchase more vehicles from the Genesis brand, there will come a sense of sophistication and following then. Just as separate franchised dealerships will follow in the near future as well. Rome wasn't built in a day, neither were Mercedes Benz or Lexus.

SuperHollowfied granted, but shouldn't something with its own brand have its own dealer, service, etc. the point I'm trying to make is although now it's its own brand, nothing has changed compared to when it was a sub-brand. My point is I don't think it meets the qualifications associated to being it's own brand. Again my opinion, but you are completely justified to saying that it's its own brand now.

ibeastly just to add one more thing; Toyota launched the Lexus brand in 1989. It was only sold in the U.S. People didn't know what to expect from the luxury brand of Toyota but they purchased them anyway. Lexus didn't come to Japan until 2005, all their models in the meantime were rebadged Toyota's back home. You can't even call Lexus "Japanese luxury" until Toyota launched the Lexus brand in Japan in 2005.

Barbra So you wouldn't buy a Genesis or Hyundai but you will buy a Mitsubishi? It's an apples to oranges comparison, I'm not sure if Mitsubishi will even be selling any cars in the US in 10 years. The quality of them are terrible in comparison to something like this.

The title says Hyundai Genesis G90. Genesis went from being a sub-brand to it's own brand, the luxury brand for Hyundai. The make is Genesis and the model is G90, not Hyundai Genesis G90.

I think "G80" and "G90" are a way of trying to distance the new cars from "hyundai". Hyundai has always been an econocar maker and probably always will be. Now that econocars have more technology, power and more "luxury" than supercars of the 1990's, the definition of "luxury" has shifted. It's more about being "UNAFFORDABLE BY MOST" and "exclusive" than it is about having great interiors and great technology. $30,000 cars offer more than $300,000 cars did back in the 1990's. A $50,000 Hyundai now has more tech than an S-class did in 2006. This car is about South Korea's national image. Their diplomats can drive these in pride to state functions rather than have a fleet of S-classes. "G" is a way of sanitizing the name. sounds more like an Infiniti - overall very generic. I love our HTRAC and I loved our Azera.

Brandon Gary The reason why the Dart and 200 are going to be canceled is it because they were too small. That's the reason why I continuously rail against cars that are too small. You're more likely to get consumer satisfaction out of the car that's larger than it needs to be rather than a car that smaller than it needs to be. This isn't Europe. Second reason is because of the Jeep Cherokee and Renegade. People are choosing those over Chrysler's small cars. They are much more spacious
