the main purpose of a cvt is to give high gas mileage. Other than that it's just a trash transmission. Stick to good old manual or automatic. Cvt is also notorious for failing and cost to repair them is too much which ultimately defeats the purpose of saving gas. I just traded in a nissan sentra cvt for a hyundai sonata 2015 and am very happy

If more companies combined a hybrid drive with a manual transmission I think you could see a little bit of a comeback in America. And you wouldnt need to shift in town while barely using any fuel or none at all under electric power depending on the setup.

lol i agree but there are 17 crash testers that agree with him/her guess they dont know the slower drivers cause the crashes . all the accident ive seen been in or lost friends in we caused by slow drivers who get tired or forget what there doing because there sitting there doing nothing then when they realize whats going on around them it's to late. 1 lady I know was always about going slower then all other cars. she caused crashes all the time but argued she was safe because the crashes happen behind her then one day she caused a pile up and her daughter and granddaughter were involved. thats the day she understood what all the other family's went through because of her slow safe driving I dont give a shit about anyone else attitude. It has been proven in one place i lived that when the speed went up and slow drivers were taken off the road accidents dropped by 75%!!!! I lived in that city when they did this and it was great my 2 hour drive dropped to 1 hour and I saved gas because I was not stopping and starting and changing lanes to avoid test dummy's I was getting 1200km to a tank then i move to another city back to slow drivers and back to 600km per tank and now im in a retirement area and im down to 400km to a tank and have been hit 4 times already . no matter what anyone says it takes a crash that involves there family before they figure out maybe going slow and being an ass is a bad thing after all

I'm not sure about the Hybrid. But for the US market most of them are built in Montgomery Alabama. Kia Optima is built in West Point Georgia.
