Nice video, thank you for this. I installed the DC plug today on my 2019 Ninja 650 using the info in this video. Also, thanks for pointing out the idle adjustment. My idle was a tad high since I installed my Yoshimura Alpha Works exhaust. I adjusted that as well. Bike runs great, and I love the increase of power but once I get the ECU tuned and put in a Sprint P08 filter it's gonna be awesome!! 👍🔥✌️

@@SJMudTurtleCruises Thank you! Yes, I love my Ninja 650 :) it's my first real motorcycle and so glad I picked this over the Ninja 400 or KTM Duke 390. I went with the Candy Steel Furnace Orange & Metallic Spark Black, bought it brand new Aug 2019. So far the mods I did: - Yoshi Alpha works exhaust -Puig bar ends ( black & gold) -Puig extendable and adjustable levers (black & gold), set as shorty levers at the moment -Puig brake fluid cover (black n gold) - MRA Touring windscreen- dark smoke - OES frame sliders, fork sliders and rear spools - Kawasaki radiator guard - R&G exhaust guard -Kawasaki Rear Seat cowl in Metallic Spark black -Kawasaki DC plug -RAM phone mount I can't decide if I want to get that comfort seat by Kawasaki like you have or do a custom Luimoto seat cover with gel insert...decisions decisions.. 😆

I am presuming that you rode dirt bikes? Yes the Ninja 650 is a well balanced all around motorcycle. You can basically do any type of riding you want, except dirt, I don't recommend dirt...lol. Wow you have done a lot to the bike! As far as the seat, I was going to get the Luimoto seat cover, then I said what the heck I'll try the comfort seat and if I'm still not happy I can always get the Luimoto down the road. So far I like the comfort seat, for me I find a big difference when hitting those unexpected or dang I forgot that was there bumps, makes it easier on the tush...lol!

@@SJMudTurtleCruises Awesome! Thanks. So as far as the comfort seat goes... does it have the same vinyl material as the stock seat or is it better material? I'm not a fan of the stock seat. Not so much the amount of padding, sure it could use more, but it's that vinyl covering I don't like. It makes alot of noise moving on the bike and definitely contributes to it not being too comfortable. Luimoto sent me some swatches of their material and colors for my bike and it's good stuff 👌 Adding in their gel insert would be a definite though if I go that route.
@SJMudTurtleCruises

@@mrmuncheez374 it is different material not the same as the stock seat. Probably not the same as luimoto either lol. The gel insert probably would be better cushion not sure but one might think so. The decision we have to make can be overwhelming especially because stuff isn't cheap for our bikes lol!

There are four pushpins on the black piece under the windscreen. All you do to remove them is push down on the center and use your fingers to pull it out. It is very easy! When re-installing the pushpins you just push them back into the holes. I hope this helps.

I have a 2018 ninja 400 and I just bought the relay kit and the USB socket but I have an installation question: my USB socket doesn't have the male and female ends which is fine because I'll just cut the ends and add them BUT the USB socket I bought has 2 fuses on the red and black wire, can I just cut the fuses out and add the female and male ends and plug and play or do I need the fuses?? I'm thinking I don't need the fuse. Thoughts??

As much as I would like to be a help with this, I do not know anything of how the ninja 400 is setup for this type of installation. You might want to go to a Ninja 400 forum where other 400 owners might be able to help you. I really wish I could but since I own the 650 and not the 400 and apparently it's a different set up from what you are described than the 650 I really suggest you check out the ninja 400 forums! Sorry I couldn't help! SJ

@@SJMudTurtleCruises I appreciate the response. Here is another one for you, the set up is the exact same, relay kit ,and plug the USB port into the provided wires on the bike. I installed the USB and connected it to the bike, but my relay kit doesn't get in until tomorrow. Can I turn the bike on to see it it works or will I burn a fuse out? Am I better to wait to power on the bike until I install the relay kit tomorrow?
@SJMudTurtleCruises

@@anthonylarosa3006 No relay kit came with my set up! So as far as the relay kit, in my opinion I would wait until you get the kit in. When I installed my DC power outlet, it was plug in the wires and you were go to go, no relay no nothing. I bought a usb 12v plug to go into the DC power outlet so again I did not have to deal with a relay! But again I would wait for the relay kit just in case, you don't want to blow or short circuit anything!

If you buy from Kawasaki it will be wired correctly and will be covered under their accessories warranty and will be made correctly to fit without any modifications, I just installed one that a customer purchased from internet/eBay that had the wrong wiring and I had to cut the brand new wires and replace the connectors with oem Kawasaki connectors and insulators to insure that it would be a quality job that i would be responsible for. Also there was no projection that lines up with the oem panel and every time I tightened the nut the switch would rotate so not a big deal but took longer also came with no instructions so I was instructed to watch this video again (took xtra time to watch instead of reading instructions) even though you used the Kawasaki brand and I had to improvise on making it work so in the end it took twice as long for using an inferior part don’t even know who will warranty it ebay? But they won’t cover your labor charge that’s for sure! And if this Chinese knock off fries anything on your new Kawasaki motorcycle you’re on your own Kawasaki will just say no thanks not covered. This is why Franchised dealers do not want to install internet parts!

The 12v dc power outlet I put on my bike is a direct accessory from Kawasaki. Its a plug and play.
