Hi, I have clocked 7k kms in one year, I stay in the mountains, so a 100% mountain Bais review. I never got a mileage beyond 19, infact 19 is the best I got. Though my riding style is very aggressive, it could be different from person to person. The metzelers are the best tyres available in it's league, but surely not the down rated H type, they are of Chinese make and does not offer great support on aggressive riding. I finished my rear tyre at 3800kms, then upgraded with metzeler m5 with W rating German made, and believe me they are much better, though the W rated is almost finished as well, so similar average. It's a very well put together Motorcycle, didn't break a sweat. Everything is just great about it, it gives super run for money to all bigger bikes, can't ask for more, kudos to KTM India for making this Motorcycle. It's a big single, so vibrations and heat are a part of it, sometimes annoying, but I can live with it. One needs to keep a close check on nuts and bolts and tighten them every 1000kms if needed. I change engine oil at every 2500kms to keep it mint, and chain is reviewed at every 500kms, I have almost finished my chain set at 7k. If matained at optimum level, the running cost is around 5k rupees a month, if we break down annual cost, which includes fuel, service, tyres and other wear and tear. Alas, it's a win win... Thanks And Ride Safe Everyone.

@abhishekdanej 5 жыл бұрын
farmersidd 5k a month? It is super costly. Yes you added the fuel price to it, which ideally I would calculate separately, still..60k annually? That is even more than maintaing a car! Probably people who are not riding in mountains can share their maintenance costs.

Don't replace engine oil so early man. As per your owners manual, if you have previous generation duke, oil change intervals are 5000km and you can easily stick to it without any second thought.

Hi, Channel Quikr. Nice review of this awesome bike, I have a 390 Duke 2019 & Live in Thailand. Apart from the immense heat to your left leg, quite a bit of vibration throughout rev - range, on/off jerky response at low speed in traffic. Everything else is spot on, Lots of sprightly Torque in the low to mid-range, and a terrific powerband from 6 - 10k rev range. Fantastic usable power when on open roads, especially on winding mountain passes. I purchased the grip-puppies (grips to stop vibration through handlebars) Powertronic Fuel X-Pro (To sort out jerky low-speed Jerkiness) DNA Stage 2 Airfilter top with filter. Rear Tail Tidy, Titanium Header, de-cat pipe & SC Exhaust ( kept black pre-muffler) Fitted small freeflow db-killer at the start of end silencer pipe. Double socket 5Amp USB Socket, Puig style smoke silver windscreen. Plus many more goodies to improve the bike, although I do prefer the look of the windscreen you fitted in this video, may I ask which make and model your screen is and where could I purchase it? Thanks so much in advance, GT.

Good job! But he did not describe any flaws , except for the heating... how does this bike compares with the yamaha MT03? Do you have this Yamaha in India? At least theoretically, it has a more refined and smooth engine. Off course it did not have the TFT dashboard , and fancy brakes, but in the end this is not what makes us happy, right? Any thoughts on this matter? Thanks for sharing!

@kbcZed
@kbcZed 5 жыл бұрын
@@interstellarguy I faced the coolant leaking into engine oil issue twice. From these 2 experiences, I've learnt that if you get it fixed by the KTM guys, it will repeat again. I got it fixed by a local mechanic when this happened for the 2nd time and the issue never occurred since then and it has been over 10k kms now. Another point to be noted is the level of coolant and engine oil. If you over fill any of the 2, the leak is highly possible because the seals that help keep the oil and coolant separate cannot manage the pressure and give in leading to a leak. Hope this info helps anyone facing the same issues.

mileage is funciin of weight and acceleration. just wanted to add this comment because lots of people have terribly wrong impressio of mileage. it depends on speed but far lesser. that's why you get good mileage in highways despite much higher speed than in traffic. in traffic you frequently accelerate and that will eat up all mileage. to get better mileage you have to reduce acceleration and also weight. for my palio GTX I get 7km in city in peak traffic and 13km highway with most done in 3rd gear. I haven't tried in 5th gear cruising because I like boiling rpm and 3rd gear is best for highway cruising. my BMW gave me 10 miles per gallon to 24 miles per gallon. again worst and best. so you can see how much it varies. so stop blaming speed. and mind that I never try to save gas otherwise you can get little more on highways for both palio GTX and BMW.

Manjunath Chandrashekhar I'm using the MRF RevZ tyres and I've been using it for over 6k kms. It's a decent tyre. Good enough for city and touring. It performs well both in dry and wet conditions but loses out on edge grip when on lean. Obviously it's not as good as the factory Metzelers but trust me, you won't use half of the Metzelers performance on city roads/highways. I'd recommend Michelins after my experience with the MRFs and Metzs. They kind of sit in between them.

@@kbcZed Wow, great to hear that Metz lasted 22k plus km. I replaced rear metz at 14.8k to ceat zoom xRad and have done roughly 3.5k km on it. So far I can say it's doing justice to the price I paid for it ( 3.9k ) :D. Initially I had nervy moments with the tyre. But after clocking 1000 plus kms on it, it's doing good. Considering that I dont do track days or I am a corner junkiee. Front Metz still have some rubber left with 17.5k on the odo. I thought of replacing it, but you given me inspiration to push it some more :D. Thanks for the update.

pravin murthy it's an oversquared engine man. You need to keep the RPM higher. But yes I agree with you about the difficulty in riding the bike at low speeds in the city traffic.

Kunal Bhattacharya Hi, I am 6ft 3in (193 cms to be exact). Is this comfortable for me for longer rides and tours? I once had a Duke 200 two years ago and it caused me Coccyx pain due to the riding posture and seating. So is this same as the 2015 Duke 200 or better than that? Am planning for this, so please advise.

Manoj Alois Schwarzenegger Govinda.Rao 1st of all why would u buy a powerful bike to cruise at 70kmph 😑 that would be moronic. rather buy a 150cc and cruise at that speed atleast mileage toh sahi milega 40-50kmph ka 😂😂😂 if you buy a poweful machine atleast expect it to give you a 20-30kmph mileage
@kbcZed
@kbcZed 5 жыл бұрын
I got a mileage of 30 on highways when I was on a ride with a friend who was riding a bullet. Because of him I had to cruise at 90. That's the slowest you can go in 6th on the Duke without knocking. So I blame the royal enfield for the mileage. And by the way, why are you guys getting so worked up about mileage? This is a Duke 390. If you are so worried about mileage stick to Splendors or any other commuter bike. Oh by the way, I get 16-20kmpl in the city for the way I ride. Usually it's around 16kmpl. Can't ride this thing slow if you ask me 😂
