7 жыл бұрынIf your wish list is pointing you towards a compact SUV with a prestige European badge, you may as well narrow your shortlist down to just one choice - the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Just one? Well, yes - if you also want the added practicality of seven seats in the one tidy, luxury package.
Pricewise, the Discovery Sport lines up against the Audi Q5 and BMW X3, but neither of those offer that third row seating, despite having similar proportions.
First launched in 2014, early adopters (like yours truly) went for Land Rover’s fresh styling and compact proportions, but ended up with a diesel engine that was… let me say, rather old hat.

Caradvice review of the Discovery Sport is good. However, I test drove the same car and found the turbo lag terrible. The interior is so bland especially the infotainment screen. I read about the vibration inte Centre pillar and the clunky poor performance of the infotainment system. I then drove the to be released Audi Q5 and it was far superior. Please no disrespect to Tony and caradvice, thier site and reviews are first class. This is just my humble opinion.

Question, the old SD4 engine discussed here is more powerful but the gentleman bemoans that he didn't get the car with the new TD4 which is described as more 'refined', Excuse my ignorance but wouldn't the more powerful engine be better? This is a serious question, thanks in advance for all responses ;)

The worst thing about Land Rover is noting is standard... power seats, power mirrors, cameras, sat-navs, all options....so the price is so fake you can easily go over 20k on top of the listing basic price, this is stupid.

Yeah... ugly, slow, cheapness interior, no off-road capabilities, awful, dynamic issues, so on... I just bought exactly the same car few days ago and I am now very, very HAPPY...

Land Rover really need to put a more powerful engine in the Discovery Sport, it's simply too slow! When you are paying this kind of money, you don't deserve to look at the tail lights of a biturbo Tiguan all the time!

I would love to see car advice do some proper, in depth reviews. 1/2 hour long stuff. These videos dont tell us anything a 2 minute peruse of a brochure will do.

Are Jaguars so expensive in Australia ? In Europe a BMW, Audi or Mercedes is much more expensive and a Jaguar comes more loaded. When you compare the interior from a Jaguar XE and BMW 3 Series, the 3 Series looses clearly. But it's true, the interior from this Discovery Sport is not premium like.

We have 6 BMW's, some older, but also a new 3 Series Touring. The car is good, really fuel efficient, fun to drive (like every BMW) and the best infotainment on the market. But(!) the interior disappoints me! Fake Leather everywhere, cheaply looking ,,metal'' (it's plastic) and the dashboard is completely hard material. Better than a VW, but for a car which costs nearly 50.000 € it's a shame. The same with the C-Class and A4. I tested the Jaguar XE and the Interior is for the money (!) better, 100%. Yes, you can also get a 3 Series, A4 or C-Class with high quality interior, than for nearly 70.000 € - for a mid class sedan. Also, you have to chose a bigger engine, no problem in America, Australia etc., but a big problem in Europe - where gasoline is really expensive. I prefer to drive our older E46 3 Series, the Interior looks better in my opinion. I don't hate BMW. It's always my first choice, because my whole family drives cars from BMW since the 1960's. Without exception. But, in my opinion the cars from Germany (not only from BMW) are to expensive, the Germans have the best image in the segment, but they rest on their current image. Marques like Jaguar, Lexus, Cadillac or Volvo made big steps in the last years, build really good cars for less money, that's something to think about for the Germans.

Its true. No owner goes off-roading with a range rover because it sucks. Its unreliable. Sure it can do it but it breaks down easily. The only reliable SUV to take off-road is Toyota Land Cruiser.

The old Discovery 2 & 3 were streets better looking than this 'car' thing. It doesn't look like a capable off-road utility vehicle. It looks like it belongs to a soccer mum.

Unfortunately, I am seriously disappointed with this vehicle. The build quality is amazingly bad and looks very cheap. I've been driving this vehicle for three years now, I've bought it again and I'm constantly experiencing problems that in short are as follows: the interior panel knocks, rattles and creaks the entire interior, the panel is extremely badly clipped. Kofferaumverkleidung velvet handle suddenly in hands, front fender not properly engaged, error messages on the conveyor belt of the Lamdasonde - thereby unannounced loss of power - fire dangerous !!!, continues with water entering the rear lights right, the xenon flickers unmotivated and irregular, the Navi sets exactly if you need it, etc. etc. All in all, I could at the price of such a desolate, misconstructed, quite cheap and overpriced (58,000 euros!) Land Rover equal to three Dacia Duster with the luxury equipment to buy. I will certainly not repeat such a mistake!

You'd be better off buying a fully loaded! Kia Sportage or Mazda CX-5 for 50 something grand! their superior in every single way. The 50k Disco is a premium poverty shitbox with no features! & don't those options add up fast lol. Complete ripoff. You buy the DS your paying for a shitty badge, probably a wanker & obviously have more money than brains.

Another great job providing misleading price ranges.. 55K+ then 30 seconds later 65k+...add to that you're driving on dirt roads that no one is ever going to drive these cars on. I feel so informed now.
