Oh my goodness. These comments are a shit show. To the people screaming abuse about 1. Saddle pads: Most of these horses have saddle pads. They are shaped to match the contours of the saddle. Not all saddle pads are square. And not all saddles need pads for short duration work. 2. Horses look tense/scared/in pain: Ya some of them do look quite nervous or agitated. That happens at shows. Especially to young and inexperienced horses. These stallions are 5 & 6. Probably have only shown a handful of times in their lives tops. It is hard to say what is nerves and what is pain without seeing the horse work in other contexts. 7:41 This horse has a loose rein for gods sake. He's happy as a clam. He has extremely good conformation and talent so this is easy for him and he doesn't need to be collected as much as some of the others. Paso's have short necks that connect high into their shoulder so when they are collected it looks very tight. 3. The gait isn't natural: Here is a paso foal gaiting. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e61gnsKpu8i5YJc.html Endeavor to learn something before you start spewing nonsense. I'm not even a paso fino owner/rider. If you think these horses are suffering in any way, then you’re sadly misinformed. These horses have better lives than most all of us. Price one out and see if you could put one or two in your stables. Rich people own these horses. Some very wealthy folk. Putting aside the few demons who would abuse an animal to make him or herself feel like they’re almighty. I saw comments below saying how these men are hurting these fragile creatures. A Paso Fino is a Hulk and could carry twenty fat asses then sprint back and get twenty more. You think that’s easy what those guys do? I think the only reason anyone has issues with this is because the movement of the horse is not what we “expect to be natural”. Anytime there’s something unnatural about something, it must be bad, right? Bunch a B S my friends. There are people out there who abuse animals but they will have they’re day of reckoning. Look at all those happy horses that are so sweaty with spit dripping out of their mouths, their heads pulled to the chest with riders that are to big for them. Those are some happy horses that love what they do...
@warriormaiden98295 жыл бұрын
@@mightyzeus6940 Sweat is a product of exercise. ANY exercise. If you walk around, you sweat. You may not notice it, but it's there. Saliva is from an active bit. Active bit means active communication from rider to horse. If there is no saliva on a calm horse with a normal bridle, something is going on. It's like a human with gum/tic tacs in their mouth. It moves, you produce saliva. None of these horses is rolkur'd. (Hyperflexed). This breed has a naturally high crest, inherited from the Iberian breeds. You want to see chin-to-chest, look at some of the worst-trained Dressage horses. (Nothing against Dressage. But those training 'shortcuts' need abolished. Badly.) A horse's weight limitation is 20% of their body weight. cha-ahse.org/store/pages/120/WEIGHT-LIMITATIONS--FOR-RIDERS.html Paso Finos are around 1,000 lbs, and can EASILY carry 200 lbs, with the average American man weighing 198. The reason the riders look too big is because the Paso is a smaller breed, standing at 13-15 hh. (For reference, Quarter horses are 14-16hh.) Like the Morgan, Paso Finos are powerhouses: small, but mighty. And any horse that really does not enjoy showing is not put in the ring. Judges don't look at just the gait. They look at how the horse carries itself, how the rider communicates with the horse, how fit the horse is, etc. If a horse is unhappy, it shows in how it moves and carries itself, and judges will pick up on that and can dock points. With all of the money it takes to show, you don't want your horse to lose because YOU are doing something wrong. Just like human sports, if a player is not enjoying themselves, they don't put in 100% effort. And you can tell the difference. If you are going to post something that criticizes a sport or event, please do your research first.
@shannonnieland12885 жыл бұрын
MightyZeus you realize that literally any horse will sweat, even if it’s not ridden, right? I just watched horses galloping in a field. While the classic fino gait is not my cup of tea, and I don't ride my horses with the highest level of collection - I can see that most comments here are so _incredibly_ uneducated it is simply astounding. Ha, not really. I expect this type of hysteria from people who know nothing of the breed, its natural gait, and the tack which is used. Are there abuses? Of course. Every breed has its share of people who will do _anything_ to win, but the gait is natural, foaming at the mouth keeps the mouthpiece of the bit from sticking to dry tissue, there are no 'tie downs' - that's a 'pisador' (traditional lead-rope of sorts), and the length of the shank of the bit is tightly controlled - as is the length of the hoof. All in all, one of the most natural breeds on the planet - albeit rare and unusual.

@sproutglob71262 жыл бұрын
One reason is because the horse is being pushed or is working hard (not always bad but Could be caused by stress), sometimes it's because the rider is using the incorrect bit, meaning that one that isn't right for that horse specifically or it could be because it isn't placed in correctly Especially with the rider with this one pulling on the reins a bit too tight, the head placement is way too tight not allowing him to swallow the excess salvia which often causes a foam or drool like substance. Compared to the other riders they "allowed their horse their heads" or give them a bit of reign to relax their head position a bit while that one has shorter reigns, not allowing much for the horse to relax the position a bit.

You need bits to ride these horses, so you can keep them going at a specific gait if you don't have bits it is very likely they will get out of gait and not be able to work as well
@bethk.73723 жыл бұрын
Have you ever ridden a Paso? They are all controlled fire and spirit. You can ride them in any bit you want; this is the traditional Paso bit, and is much milder than it looks. The shanks are swept back so there is very little leverage compared with, say, the curb bit you'll find on a western horse. Even these horses, fired up stallions no less, are ridden with some drape in the rein. Watch again. This is a natural headset in the fino gait. My horses, a Paso among them, greatly prefer a curb bit to a snaffle. It's easier for them to carry, and gives a signal before engaging.

all people who think this is good i just want to tell you something the horses have their tongues tied with eizer wire they are thin sharp bits and horses sometimes stick their tongues out that's minus points that's why their tongues are tied they stand between two poles with chains that rub and are whipped to learn the pass so people this is not good here all horse lovers are understood

Beautiful gait. Why do most of those beautiful horses look like they are foaming at the mouth and drooling?????
@anonymousjet5 жыл бұрын
Most of the time it's caused by copper bits or "flavored" bits. The sweetness from the metal causes them to salivate more. As the saliva warms up, and the bit makes it hard for the horse to swallow, the saliva ends up turning foamy and leaking out the mouth. Doesn't always mean the horse is suffering, though.
@warriormaiden98295 жыл бұрын
There's also the fact that communication with the horse through the hands means the bit moves. Think of it like chewing gum. Before you put a piece of gum in your mouth, your salivary glands are 'on stand by'. When you start chewing, your glands start to release saliva. The more the gum moves, the more saliva is produced. When you tuck the gum in your cheek, production goes down. When you are moving (say, jogging down the street) you aren't thinking about swallowing, you're thinking about moving, and the saliva builds up until you notice it and swallow. It's the same with horses. When a bit is put in a horse's mouth, the same glands activate. When you move the reins, the bit moves too, which means saliva. And because of the horse's head position and gravity, all that saliva comes out as drool/foam. I hope that explanation makes sense. :)

Foaming from some or almost all isn't good, huge shanks = bad for the horses mouth, one of them even had their tongue hanging out. But I've also just been trying to figure out if the gait is an actual natural gait or not.

Natural Gait.
@dreaming-of-spots68053 жыл бұрын
It's a natural gait and tbh a lot of the time hanging their tongue out is just a personal quirk (he does it even when standing quietly in the lineup on a loose rein) and long shanks aren't bad as long as the hand is light (look at 127 as an example- a bit of slack in the rein, and the horse has a relaxed face)

It is a natural gait, you can find videos of foals doing it without human help. its really quite cute!

how is the saddle not hurting the horse without a saddle pad underneath the saddle?!
@frauwolle24176 жыл бұрын
The saddle pad is for protection of the expensive saddle. You don't need it if the saddle is well fitting. Otherwise, don't use the saddle.
@jessilynnarlo38766 жыл бұрын
Frau Wolle that’s not completely true. Saddle pads are used to protect the horse from the saddle. When the leather gets sweat on it and it’s rubbing in the same spot over and over and over, it is extremely painful.
@frauwolle24176 жыл бұрын
I see, thank you. Gladly so far I always used saddle pads.

Well, I like to ride horses. I like to go on a trail ride, I like to galop through the country and like a horse going soft and trained. What I see on this video, are small horses and big people sitting on them. Some of them are to heavy for those small horses. And on my opinion, this is not a natural gate, it´s a gate which is bred on. In nature horses have to run, when there are in danger. Well, maybe this horses can run, but this gate along with these bits (on of the horses has his tongue hanging out, some of them open there mouth and showing there theeth) ... well, it looks very, vers strange to me and not normal.

Why are you all so positive? You know the way many people train them? (Not all, but too many) Many of them train these horses tied up between two poles, then whip them up, they can't go anywhere and do this. When they go to wild or to fast forward, they hit the knees or tie one leg up. Also their head is pushed back on the nose, causing bones to break or grow unnaturally. They also tie up the tongue with iron wire to the bit, preventing it from slipping out, causing to cut into the tongue way too deep. I don't know about you, but I can't look at something and think "Oh this is fascinating or beautiful" While having stories like this in my mind..

Ohhh the Karens are out in full force on this video. None of the riders in this video woke up and said "I'm going to go show a Paso today." Given that this class isn't tagged as an amateur owner class, I'm willing to bet every rider is a professional trainer. This breed was bred to carry conquistadors in full armor up mountains and bushels of sugar cane through fields. These horses have trained with these riders for months, if not years. If it weren't in the best interest of the horses, their owners wouldn't allow it. They have too much invested. Some of the people you are so callously calling 'fatsos' are some of the best trainers in the world. Should they lose weight? Probably, for their own health, but the horses will be fine. This is what they are bred to do.

All you supporters of this now tell us that the tails 'naturally' bend abnormally like they were broken and set freakishly................ SURE S U R E
@anonymousjet5 жыл бұрын
It's because of the way they're stepping that causes their tail to bend like that. When the horses stand still, you can see that their tails lay flat. Also, Arabians, when excited, curve their tail in a very similar manner. So the way it is bending is very natural to the animal.
@diadia56345 жыл бұрын
Just look at tail's position when they're standing.
@sanmix72174 жыл бұрын
@@anonymousjet - no, many of the tails _are_ cut due to owners being convinced that they have to bend in order to win even though there a very small number that have a slight curve to the naturally lowest tail. There used to be a rule against it, but it was voted out by people who declared there was no test for natural vs. unnatural tail set. I absolutely do not support cut tails any more than I support TWH 'Big Lick' abuses or quarter horses being drained of blood to make them abnormally 'calm' before their classes.
