I finally broke 5000 miles and in the city my MPG has moved up to 13 and 17-20 on the highway at 70mph

2014 here (Megacab Limited) Little over 33k, since engine first cranked over, its averaging 13-14 MPG in midwest weather. It did open up after about 5,000 miles and you could tell it had a bit more bite and pull to the throttle - also a few MPG's better. Winter, I'm averaging 10-12, summer I'm getting 16+ Took a trip from STL to Herndon, VA and averaged 19MPG. Most of IL-KY was flat ground and for a good hour or two, I was getting 27MPG. Your Mileage May Vary, but thought I'd chime in since you have a similar configuration to mine.

These are great numbers! I get about 11 around town with my 2010 1500 with a 5.7 hemi, best on the highway is 16ish...

because emissions are so strict these days, short trips will absolutely destroy your fuel economy. I drive a 2015 with a 6.4 for work, and avg about 15mpg. I sometimes average better than what you are getting while TOWING!

I have a 14 RAM 1500 2 door express ,since new under similar commute conditions as yours averaged 11.7 with the 5.7 hemi. hwy mileage is much better (around 23 . mpg )....just ordered a power wagon with the 6.4 so it looks like around town mileage is close to the 5.7s ....hopefully yours will improve a little once broke in.

What? my 06 2500 diesel: city 15-16mpg highway 23-26mpg. So I was thinking to buy new one on gasoline but this is not good

Thanks for your review. I too have a new 2017 Ram 2500 HD 6.4. My question is does your brake pedal have some resistance when you depress it. Or is it smooth though out the motion? Thanks

How does the 6.4 fair when you stomp that loud pedal. Put you back in the seat?

I assume your Ram has a squeaking sound during cold startup. It kinda sound like a bad pulley or belt. The Ram forums have many pages of people with this problem going back to 2014. The noise goes away once the Truck is warmed up. Apparently the noise is actually coming from the exhaust and Chrysler says its normal. ANYONE BUYING A RAM 2500 6.4L LISTEN TO IT STARTUP COLD.

I have driven hard on my RAM 2014 and get 2 mpg average Higher then you gotten and with 410 gear automtic CREW CAB

I hyper miled it at 55 mph and got 23 mpg without cruise control. At 65 mph I get 19 -20 mpg. At 70 mph I get 16 -18 mpg. At 80 mph I get 13-14 mpg. The best mpg are achieved when you feather it on the highway. Let the gears change and keep the rpm low. In the city I average 8-10 mpg. I hate the roaring engine fan noise in low speed city driving. Buyer beware, the brakes on this truck feel inadequate. It stops with a hope and a prayer. These are some stiff brakes. 2016 Ram 2500 megacab limited 3:73 axle. Transmission failure at 43K. Valve body replaced under powertrain warranty. Ram can't duplicate the intermittent rear end shutter I get sometimes. The rear seat straps keep falling down even though people rarely sit back there. Otherwise, good engine, subpart truck. Right side rambox no longer locks or unlocks with the remote control. I have to use the key. Love the Uconnect. Love my rear air suspension. I hate Chrysler's customer service and Chrysler's dealership customer service. If you have a megacab, some dealers don't service anything over 1500. I'm dumping this truck. My dad has a Big Horn 1500 with 5.7 and hasn't experience any of my issues except the sunroof recall. My truck was made in Mexico. His was made in the USA. Then again, his 8 speed isn't a Chrysler made tranny. Thank you ZF. If I get another Ram, it will be 1500 regular cab. Otherwise Ford, Toyota, or GMC.

Wow my 2014 does much better than that. I get about 16-17 on the interstate going 75-80 mph. I get 19-20 on the highway going 60-65 mph. And I get about 11 in town. These numbers are a little worse in the winter.

I don't get it. My '14 could not break 13 MPG no matter how I drove it. If I was seeing these MPG's I would still be driving it.

3:73 gears SUCK! Have to use to much motor to get it going. Going to switch to 4:10 or 4:56 with 35s.

I don’t care what kind of mileage they get, if democrats have their way, we won’t be driving gas vehicles much any how to worry bout earth running out of oil .
