NeutralGenericUser I agree. The Prime is better on the eyes than the regular Prius which looks like a weird fish. This should have been what all Priuses would look. Goddamnit Toyota.

there's something about this car that makes it more memorable to drive than the Volt (I've test driven both 2017 models). it is so nimble and smooth by comparison, and even quieter than the all electric Bolt. Bear in mind Toyota has been in the hybrid game much longer and reliability should be higher. Not to mention, *you can't even get power seats in a Volt or a Bolt*. For the prices they are asking I find this reprehensible.

It looks much better than the standard Prius but they must do something about the rear quarter panel above the wheel. It makes the rear look like it's riding on spare tires. I like the front, rear and front quarter view. Thanks for the review.

We knew someone would notice. As it turns out, there was an issue with that video so it had to be pulled and then put live again. As a result, that killed the video's ranking for KZfaq search (and we get a LOT of traffic from search). So we decided to pull the old one and re-upload it. This one already has more Likes than the one from two weeks ago. We promise the next video will be All-New! ;-)

My 2015 prius plug in gets 199 mpg with normal charging. I can't imagine how good i could do in this model. Maybe 300-400mpg? if your commute is short & charges frequent you hardly ever use gas at all! great cars in my opnion. i will wait until this model few years used and nicely depreciated. will be great used car buy

if say my commute is within the pure EV range and i just let gasoline sit in my tank for a while, how long is too long for gas to sit there and not be used? weeks? months?

Price comparison with regular (non-plug-in) Prius and translate that into miles? This is a rather important part of the equation. Why would you skip that?

Gasoline is the most efficient energy source, for vehicular use. Problem though is the methods of extracting that power are currently very inefficient. The future of the ICE is to make engines that are actually more efficient. Currently the engine paradigm revolves around downsizing and more boost. This is only being just as inefficient with less engine. An equally updated V8 will get the same F/econ as a Turbo'd engine making the same power and torque. The real effort is to make engines that are actually more mechanically and energy efficient. And while many believe that they need to invent something totally new, which in some cases can yield results, some older designs, using modern manufacturing and technology may actually provide the results of vastly better, more efficient engines. Building the same old engine with minor tweaks or piling more tech on it, is not going to get the results as newer or smarter reinvented old designs will. ICEs and gas aren't going much of anywhere for quite a while yet. 20 years doesn't sound like a long time, it actually is. Then you have the push to produce cleaner fuel. Synthetic fuels or bio-fuels, "fresh Fuels", will easily solve this. Like Batteries the time to develop and money to invest in these is paramount for there to be a future with them. Trust me, when Gas producers have to compete with BEVs they will do a LOT more than drop their prices, they will take the steps to greatly improve their product, including investing and even pushing for Synthetic and Bio-fuels.
