2018.05.12 - Hummer H2 Road Noise Vibration while driving windshield

Every since I bought this Hummer h2 I have had road noise on the hummer h2 around the windshield. I could never figure out where the noise was coming from I discovered after reading this message board they talk about removing the a channels plastic around the windshield. I added silicon around the a channel to get it working right and it won't make noise while driving anymore.

Man thank you so much we just bought a h2 and drove for an hour and it’s killed us hearing the rattle

I don’t have road noise but the windshield vibrates a lot may be due to the 2 18s subwoofers in the cpillar area lol😂. Nice video for the future tho, once I do have that road noise I will know where it’s coming from thanks.

I use to think it was the windshield. It wasn't it was these!

Thanks for the video! How did it work? I've been trying to find where that noise has been coming from for years! I figured it was around the windshield but didn't pursue taking the molding off etc. I figured it would be some bad seal that I couldn't get at. Very annoying on the highway. What type of silicone is in that little tube. I've never seen a small tube like that, just the big tubes with a silicone gun. I'm in Canada, so you know, we're a bit behind the times here! ;)

Yes they sell small tubes of the big clear silicone here in the states. It is plain clear stuff. Nothing fancy. It makes a huge difference. I got so pissed one day that I said I am done with this thing making noise and started tearing things apart.

Will the plastic piece be easy to remove if the windshield ever needs replacement?

All my noises are front Interior body panels.

@benplikerdsminute thanks, yeah I have always wanted an H2. Drove H1 in the military many years back. Got a deal on an 03 with less that 100k. But almost all the interior panels are broken around the screw holes because someone overtightened everything. I will probably start one panel at a time repairing them

benplikerdsminute Could the noise also be described as a loud wind blowing type of sound? Thats what noise I’m having.
