I had need of a parting tool, so I decided the time was ripe for unboxing my BangGood "DrillPro" 7pc Turning Tool kit I received several weeks ago. I'll try the parting/grooving tool here and the others as the opportunity arises.

I love the same set they sent me.....inserts are dirt cheap too although a bit fragile under heavy work load. Your camera is awesome btw

If only I would stop mounting the camera to the machines I'm using I'd get rid of all that vibration. Another project, another day...Thanks for stopping by!

The reason for the steep diamond tool is to clear narrow spots, ex between the live center and part diameter. I keep a lot of different inserts just picked them up from here and there.

Thanks for the explanation Jim. I still think the chosen assortment is a bit odd--not exactly the 7 pieces I would choose for a 7-piece set. Still a good value in my opinion.

That set is the biggest selling BG lathe item in both 10 and 12 mm holders. Unfortunately all those different insert types put me off. I have way too many variations in the drawer as is ;) But yes, it's a very popular item. Cheers Rob.

Yes, I would definitely like to settle on a "do-all" insert type and stick with it. Up until now, however, the price of experimentation was really high. Now it's down to the hobbyist's level. Thanks for stopping by!
