Fans of the 2015-2017 GT race cat-back from MBRP are ready to hear how well this exhaust will sound on the 2018-2023, so join Bill as he examines the changes that were made to adapt this exhaust for our current year models.
Using a custom resonator instead of mufflers, this unique approach to the MBRP race system delivers a badass sound.
You can thank the Helmholtz resonator for this unique MBRP exhaust note, it has a specific chamber size that'll change the tone of the exhaust going past it, containing certain frequencies based on the exhaust path going through it, and providing a nice deep tone.
While deep and throaty at idle, you'll notice a dramatic shift to an aggressive high-pitch note when you get on it, and boy does it get there in a hurry.
Highway cruising at around 65, we noticed more depth to the deep tone of this exhaust that will really help build character for your 2018. Especially if you're going for that race car feel.
Putting the pedal to the metal on the highway, we were treated with awesome crackles and pops that complimented the overall feel of what a race system should be.

The reason this sounds so good is the H pipe but specifically the H pipe with a small diameter bridge. This is how I got the perfect sound on my C63

I had the mbrp race cat back on my 16 gt and now I have the corsa extreme and honestly I still much prefer the tone of the mbrp better it was loud and deep with a perfect blend of raspiness, the only reason why I swapped to the corsa is because drone was HORRIBLE on the mbrp while the corsa has no drone whatsoever

If you pair that exhaust with a Roush X Pipe the sound you get it something unique that will draw eyes and comments when you take off and do downshifts with the rev matching. Those two together makes a unique mean sound that I haven't heard on any other mustang. believe me, I've gotten many comments on the 19.

This fits 15-17 GT models as long as a rear valance to accommodate the quad tips is in place.

We installed this yesterday on my buddy’s car. For some reason, there is a lot of play in it. The clamps don’t seem to actually clamp down very well. The inner tips also sit really close to the inside of the diffuser and they seem to be tilted. Went through and checked tightness on everything. Any ideas?

Depends on the tone you like. Personally i don’t like the tone that the corsa extreme has this is deep and aggressive. I’m looking for a exhaust system for my mustang and this is the best option i found so far. Good price, loud and it sounds amazing. Only bad thing is you can’t use the active exhaust which bums me out.

It's obvious why isn't it? :P Imagine yourself in their situation. They just want to chill then somebody does some drive bys in front of their house or wherever they are. That kind of exhaust is beyond the pain threshold for every person and shouldn't be on a road vehicle not only to protect the public but also the owner from hearing loss, i know what i am talking about, i drove a Buell with an aftermarket exhaust for a while and they didn't have dB eaters and my ears were ringing after every ride so the manufacturer added them. I mean Harley Davidson did their campaign against load pipes for a reason since it was negatively impacting their image.

kenzingtonchap buy the axle backs which are significantly cheaper, but resonator delete x pipe of your choice. May lose just a tiny bit in overall pipe size but at least you’ll have what you want. That, or spend way more money on this catback and have a 3” x pipe made to replace what they give you.

Gemini Wayne I bought this exhaust for my 15 GT premium. Paired it with the Anderson Composites ARQ rear valance. This will fit the 15-17 GT models without any fitment issues as long as you have a rear valance to support the quad tips. This exhaust sounds sick!

The pro series is stainless steel, the aluminized series is aluminzed steel which corrodes easier/faster.

Did you just not hook the active back up? Cuz looking at your car i would think you have the 401a package? I have active and really dont care if I use it I always leave it in track anyway... I would think i could go with this set up and just disregard the active feature...?
