you made the right choice. The Q50 is cheap, i have one. I had a 535xi, job changed and needed to feel the performance of german sport luxury. Thought Infiniti could come close, it doesnt. Sure the HP and Twin Turbo are a treat, but the gear ratios, the suspension and steering is nothing close...

Lexus' are so slow. Not very great chassis either. I think they have the luxury part down, but they definitely are about the bottom of the barrel in terms of performance.

I don't disagree. Thing is, the IS 350, while slower, is also lots cheaper. The IS 350 doesn't really compete with the S4 directly. The 350's performance is kinda similar to the 330i, base A4, and C 300. However, the IS 350 is positioned at the top of the IS line, while having a much lower starting and maximum price than something like a 340i or S4. Thus, you are paying less, and getting less performance. That's just fine - if you want the high-performance small Lexus you have to go RC F, which admittedly is a bit pricier than the S4, but is a more direct competitor in performance. If you don't want the level of performance of the S4 or C 43, the IS 350, particularly the RWD F Sport model, is relevant in this segment, mainly for drivers who want both reliability and good handling dynamics and a naturally aspirated engine. Don't get me wrong - I don't see it as an S4 replacement. If you want an S4, but want to consider other options, the IS 350 could be on your list, but for most cases I don't know why you'd put them in the same category.

I do disagree on the chassis part... I think the IS/GS platform is pretty good. Aside from weight, it's a very rigid platform and generally feels great when cornering, with very predictable neutral handling behavior (I have an IS 300 F Sport and have driven it on some back roads now and then).

Agreed, It is a disappointment to say the least. It just blends in with everything else. I'm probably going to get flamed for this but a Honda accord sport is more eye catching than this car and I own an S4. Was hoping to trade mine in for this generation but I'll be looking elsewhere.

There has to be more style changes between the A4 and S4. They need to be careful b/c there's more competition these days. Look at the new Alfa Romeo gulia...that looks hot and I love the interior. It looks fast. Genesis is coming out with a sports sedan, and even Kia with their stinger. There's no room to be mediocre. Again, the S4 is a great car to drive...to think that it goes 0 - 60 in 4.3 secs is amazing considering that it's not even 400 hp...it's faster than cars with more power, so it's impressive. To be honest, the Accord sport is really good looking, lol. When I see them I'm impressed. The only thing that kills the accord is that damn CVT....I can't with cvt's.

I agree wholeheartedly, Audi has mainstreamed the car. It is now a bland, meh model, previously a somewhat elegant, understated sleeper. No more DSG, lost the supercharger. Styling to keep you depressed. What were they thinking. I will not be getting another S4 for 2018.

chigasaki06 agree with you on the Alfa. Very nice lines on the car and I actually like the Fiat Spider but hardly no power in them whatsoever. Even considered the new Miata just too small but for toys would be fun weekend cars.

That's why I like the car. It blends into the background and isn't all up in your face attracting attention. Most people who don't know cars don't know what it's capable of. Undercover. Just how I like it.

The S-tronic is bad at low speeds and can't cope with the high torque this car produces. Simple as that.

BMW might be the more dynamic choice, but just like the video states it cant live up to the Audi's interior or luxurious feel on a day to day basis. And if dynamic is all you're worried about, I think the ATS V-sport equipped car may be the go-to.

The 340i interior looks like crap. I can't believe people really pay $50k just for the BMW brand.
