Good choice! :). Getting use to it? It all depends on what you are used to. The Lion is no race sail. So, it will treat you nicely and won’t kick you in the teeth: The power is delivered gradually and predictably. One thing you might find having to get used to is that the sail is constantly “on”. - all cam sails are. But that’s no problem if you downhaul enough to loosen the leach for the sail to release excess power in the gusts. To help keep thing under control in the jibes, it might be good to depower and lay the sail down a bit more than with a rotational sail. But compared to a NP V8 or a Duotone S-Pace, the Lion is a more accessible and forgiving sail for powerful freeriding. It can deliver a tone of thrills: I reach 35mph with my 7.0 on a Goya Bolt and I’m not an expert!

They are both great sails. Not the fastest 2-cam freeride sails but very predictable and controllable in gusty/chop conditions. I tend to prefer the Lion with its constant positive profile. It's always "on" and I like that for freeriding fast. But basically, the Lion is a Cheetha with a couple of small cams. They are very comparable in performance. With your 5.8, I'd go with a 7.0 Lion or Cheetha and then if you need another size up, I'd step straight to an 8.5 of either flavors. That said, I just replaced my old 8.5 Lion that was coming apart with a 2-cam Goya Mark 2 and got a new 5.4 of the same kind as well. I expect the Goya to be a bit more "slippery" and fast (mostly monofilm) compared to the Lion/Cheetha. And yes, I used a lot my Lion 6.0 because that is my fastest sail so far. I haven't uploaded footage in more than a year now unfortunately. Not that I don't have any - I have plenty of interesting sessions on the hard drive, but I'm lacking time to edit and publish at the moment...

Phil Meyer Yes I did! Sailed it many time this year and loved it. Very tunable accommodating a wide wind range. The gap between the 7.0 and 8.5 Lion is just perfect. I’ll probably put together a few minutes of sailing vid with this sail in the coming weeks/months.
