That dark alloy color blew me away! Those orange/red stripes gave me severe 60's Batmobile vibes :) Cool! Looking forward to your testrides of the softtails like the Deluxe and Lowrider etc.

I saw the second bike up close. The mixture of the matte and gloss paints is very very cool. Actually saw all of them. I think this year HD has out done themselves with the choice of colors. Some of these shaded color schemes where is goes from lighter to darker are outstanding. The reason they work so well on the CVO's and touring bikes is there's just more real estate to show the paint scheme off. Custom paint takes up a huge amount of man hours,

I like how HD is taking the customization back to the streets. They're associating their craft with local MC designs for regional demographics. It's a genius marketing grab to pull all bike lovers from the neighborhood custom shop back to HD. Overall that Denim Grey is Hard!

Liquid Grey looks mighty fine! No references to LGB, large grey boat old navy phrase I'm told. Was talking to a USAA rep from Colorado with an 883 says he thinks he wants to but a big bore kit on it. But also wants a bigger bigger bike. Gave him your website and name and said to look you up, told him you would set him up right. Take care Matt.

Hey Matt, been following your vids, great job keeping the community informed on what's new out there. Thankyou. I noticed that the gunship bike has an opening in the driver seat. Is that to allow for a backrest? I didn't see that on the other SGCVO models and I don't see that seat available on HD's website... Is it available in black?

Wow...if only my pockets were a bit deeper this year. That Dark Alloy & Black Denim CVO is the sexiest Bike I’ve ever seen. Here’s hoping I can find a left over when the 2019 models are released. Doubtful but, Hey... a guy can dream.

G day Matt, got a couple of questions for you. Thinking of getting highway pegs for my 2018 CVO SG, are the foot pegs called "Air Flow"? Also I'm 5.9 in height, do you recommend the short angled, or long angled highway pegs? Cheers.....

Another great video Matt Laidlaw. I have a simple question on an item that you may be able to answer. With all the Specials and CVO's having the stretched saddle bags do you think that HD will offer in the P&A Catalog the liners for them? The new catalog does NOT list them. Also I have noticed that the CVO's do not come with the liners. Thanks again for your awsome videos.

Do they have like a backrest for the single Rider for this bike or would I have to order a different seat for this bike

Great job Matt as always. Although I hate that Gunship Gray color. Each to his own. My favorite is still the 2017 red and black CVO Street Glide. Can't wait to see you do a full up road teston the 2018. I'll be curious as to your opinion of the 2018 CVO Street Glide vs a 2017 Street Glide with the complete stage 4 set of upgrades. I plan on riding my 2017 in Denvers St Pat's parade, hopefully no overheating. BTW I'm no doctor, no lawyer, or trust fund baby. I graduated LSU with 17.00 bucks in my pocket and through hard work and sacrifice along with astute investments, I can now afford the Harleys of my dreams.

Thanks for another great review. So after having had the opportunity to look at each bike (CVO SG vs. CVO RG) which one speaks to you? The CVO RG probably won't handle (with that 21" front wheel) or sound as good (2 less speakers in the lowers) as the SG, but it looks great just the same. I know your fan of the gunship grey, but which model are you leaning towards to replace your current ride?

Harley should team up with Rockford Fosgate. They have a couple sets of speakers for these bikes. And sound amazing! Still waiting for the FatBoy bike review matt 😀

How do the lid-mounted speakers not fill with water during a rain shower....or washing the bike?

I would buy the M8 running cooling theory if they didn't offer water cooling on 2018 cvo limited. Same 117 M8, so why water cool that and not cvo SG and cvo RG? Harley is cost cutting and charging more money.

i see this is their attempt at entering the custom market and i have to say i am super impressed. personally i think a 28 inch wheel would have been great but i understand they would be taking risks in doing that as its not for everyone. Still the best though ;)

I love the gloss and demin paint, but like Nicholas mentioned, how do you to detail the paint? I know waxing the demin bikes was a no-no and there is no way you will be able to wax/polish the gloss paint w/o it getting on the matte. I have seen denim bikes whos owners made the error of waxing them, took the whole denim look away. Do these bikes have some type of clear coat over the denim as well? Cuz that is the only thing keeping me from running out and buying one....oh and the $45K OTD price tag.

Was the 114 oil and water cooled on the 2017 CVO SG? Is it possible that the SYN3 has better thermal properties than conventional oil?

I beg to differ with people missing the radiators! Harleys look better as air cooled bikes! This is the best styling on cvo's yet! I'm happy there's no longer flaming skulls and/or fake pinstriping (factory "customized type! 😜).True XXI century looks! The price tag, though... Maybe in 5 years a salvage title/ insurance "edition" lol!

Hey, Matt. In reference to the Sporster48, which Vance and Hines exhaust is better (in terms of deep sound and loud potato-potato sound and burble) the slip ons or the short shots? And must You remap the computer if you go with the short shots? Please and much obliged.

Sup MATT it's all good in the woods, people Bitch about the Cost of a CVO but you take a new street glide then SLAP a big bore kit in it to get it to 114 or 117 then you add audio then you SLAP on a custom paint job O yeah don't forget a match set of custom wheels match rotors an a few more goodies etc.. You got 40 plus in a bike that you put or had put together which is cool but in cost you 've got a hopped up street glide an resale Will show you haven't got a CVO that being said my resale on my 17 CVO will be low because in the next five Years I plan to ride the hell outta the thing Two months owned 3,100 happy miles on it so far 😎ok I DONE!

I think people don't like to pay upfront for this beauty. I am looking to buy SG or RG and I am thinking the same way. Buy CVO and the max I will do changing the pipes or even ride it as it is. or buy SG or RG and spend thousands of $$$$ to make it my own. I went through the same question when I bought my Breakout. I am glad that I bought the normal Breakout, not the CVO but the amount of money and effort is too much. Yes there is kind of fun to do it but these big bikes are totally different and I think I will spend a lot of money more than the CVOs. One important point, It doesn't matter how much you spent on extras when you sell it nobody cares about what's on there. CVO holds the price very well and you will not lose too much as you will with the normal versions of these bikes .

The matte grey on gloss red does kind of look “unfinished”. But I really like the look of matte on gloss of the same color.

my 2014 boom system can kill the battery quick. what is all that wattage doing to the charging system on a motorcycle? and who needs a radio that loud? mine is more than adequate and ilike loud music and am jalf deaf. I have fairly loud exhaust and still don't need more than half volume at 80 mph.

My god that bike is the same price as a brand new luxury Mercedes Benz !

The Gunship Grey is an amazing color. The ONLY downside TO ME is that it's not offerd at a "limited " capacity. I feel like everyone is going to go for this sweet color, (like a black Harley) and it would take away from the uniqueness , IMHO

I love Harley and I have a street bob BUTits hard to bring myself and spend $22000 for a Road king after fees and taxes and interest about $27000.... that's just a bit too much!!!
