Mr Fahrenheit I just got my car back from the body shop and the front lip with the rest of the front blacked out makes the car look sick. I’m lovin’ it. The shop didn’t recommend bolting it on. They said if I were to go over something and it tugged on the front it would be better to loose the front lip than the whole front cover to the bumper. They said it will hold on fine with 3M tape and screws. What do you think about the underbody spoiler side skirts. Little pricy but I think it may look good

J B - I had every intention of using double sided tape if I was going with the screws they sent. Didn’t trust them 100% at the time. With the nuts and bolts on the lip, they are tighten and tortured down so there is no movement happening. Glad I went with the lip, it looks great and gets a lot of looks. 👍🏼

Trust me when I say you want to bolt it down. The lip isn’t made of high carbon steel, it’s made of plastic that’s designed to break up upon impact so on the off chance you do hit something hard the lip will crumble or shatter in the strike zone. IF you don’t secure it properly you WILL lose the lip at highway speeds 100% without a doubt. I’ve seen it happen so many times because people don’t use common sense and you lose your lip after a few weeks. The bumper is held in place by 18 separate clips at strategic points that enable the bumper to survive a crash at speeds over 50 mph with another vehicle and still retain its place on the car. For some reason this has become a debate where the uninformed think bolting this to a vehicle will result in a lost bumper but speaking from an engineering perspective that’s 100% inaccurate and couldn’t happen with the materials at hand. Don’t by the guy who creates a post weeks from now because you lost your “cheap lip” because you only secured it with tape and the supplied self tapping screws.

@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports Thanks for the feedback! yeah was looking in forums and videos and people have lost lips from excess speeds due to not securing the lip properly.

Richard Phou - I did not use the tape. I spaced my bolts to where I didn’t need the tape. The lip is rigid enough to support itself every 6-8” so I opted to keep it off. If I ever remove the lip it’s a simple job to remove and no tape needs to be scratched off.

You could man, to be honest you install the lip without taking the bumper off. I just took it off because I wanted it perfect and I wanted to learn how my front end comes apart.

Hugo Aguilera - If your going to use just the supplied screws, maybe lock washers would be useful. I used Walmart hardware for like $2 total and it’s bolted on. My bumper would fall off before the lip 😂😂😂

That drill has that feature to not overtorque it. Probably use 10 setting on that

I have the exact lip on my 19 Accord sport and I added a few more screws after we mounted it to make it more sturdy . It is a really nice lip

William Ramirez - You can find that delete on eBay. Some guys are going with a wrap but the eBay item is abs plastic and 3M tape to keep it attached.

88omarz - Not hard man. I picked up a small pry bar set for $8 at Walmart and had the bumper off in 10 minutes. (First time ever) Check our the video linked in the description for a great tutorial. It’s not my video but definitely a great walk through.

Zero. It’s no issues, the abs holds up nice. The guys having issues are the ones not installing it right or hitting the lip with the full weight of the car behind it.

The ones that come with the lip are cheap 1/4 inch self tappers. I’ve worked on enough things in life to know they wouldn’t hold (and they don’t) plus I wanted the lip to stay on the car even though it was a cheap $50 lip. The bolt, nut and clamp job secured the lip until I was ready to take it off the car. Last a year and a half until I upgraded to a better lip. It’s just making sure you do the job right the first time.

BoostedWhipz - I originally was going to do that but I thought back to my younger days and the lips I’ve been through. I quickly realized if I wanted to keep it on with all the driving I do (Real Estate) and future plans I better bolt that thing on. I’m all for easy...but I see far to many speed bumps and parking curbs to risk it. 😂😂

I would imagine it would stay put with wind or snow. Most anything you can put it through...expect maybe banging the lip on something lol. That was my biggest fear...

The 3m tape surprisingly didn’t hold on mine. I used some nice screws and tapped it to the bumper. I spaced them evenly so they look like rivets. It came out real nice bro.

You can do it without taking the bumper off. Just make sure the front is lifted up on jack stands.
