Day 2 - First time really getting to do some laps on the bike after break in.
Handling -
The bike is pretty impressive in this department. Overall the bike feels incredibly light and balanced. Similar to it's older brother the 250sxf, it drops into ruts, handles chop and jumps, cases or flat landings just amazingly. The bottoming resistance is bar none and actually quite a bit better than my 17' CRF450 was. You can change direction easily mid corner or through a section and the bike is very playful in the air too! Not many downsides to the stability and handling of the 150sx chassis.
Power -
This is where the bike differs from my CRF450 in a somewhat negative manner. Obviously, the 150 will be much slower than any 450 on the market today and even noticeably slower (especially when NOT in the power band) than any modern day 250f. The bike has a great peaky hp that is very useful if you can stay in it. I'm still struggling a bit coming out of tight corners on the pipe but will work on it over the next few rides out. For a small 2 stroke engine, the bike produces a lot of power but only in a mid to top range area then it falls pretty flat. There is pretty much no roll on in stock form, this may be due to jetting or setup, but it is flat off the bottom great mid/top then flat on top in stock trim.
Gearing -
Basically 1st and usually 2nd gear are not even used. There were couple tight rutted corners where I found myself shifting down to 2nd but for the most part 3rd, 4th and even 5th are used most. Get used to shifting 2-3 shifts per section of the track on a 150sx because it's required in order to stay in the best part of the power.
Overall -
The bike is PURE fun and honestly that's all that matters to me. It inspires more than enough confidence in it's handling and chassis for me to feel great ringing the bike out through choppy sections and it is the lightest and most playful bike I've had in the air (which is a huge fun factor award for me).
Any questions?

Cool video and great insight...I'm thinking about picking one of these up to have for MX tracks, work on momentum, corner speed, and just have some fun! I'm a 40B XC rider and have a 350XCF for that type of riding... this 150 has to feel so light and flickable in the air :) Do you think the low end bog can be cleaned up with jetting or is really just part of the power band? Do you feel like the stock shock spring rate is on point for your weight and speed?

Yes the stock spring rates are super on point for me personally! Sorry for the late reply too! Watch my latest vids on the bike with the lectron carb installed, night and day dif!

Great videos keep it up! I have a 18 150sx and have full pro circuit exhaust, v4r reed box, rk tech head insert, and lectron carb on it. The bike rips so hard that I was thinking about putting a flywheel weight on it. I'm 42 years old and love mx and I'm a total C class rider all day long. I ride mostly track any suggestions on what weight to use? 12,10,8,6. I bought the lectron carb after watching and couldn't be more happy, THANKS!

MOG; May 12, 2018, Thumper: KTM 150 STIC, page 6: “.....top end goes into this insane scary feeling rev that builds power till you shut off, I don't know how high it can rev but it doesn't really flatten…..” “So I have had a super productive day, got the bike running so strong it's almost scary. For comparison my friend has an 18 SX250 with a vf4 and an FMF 2.1 silencer, he’s running the green PV spring. So the first session was the usual fast but didn't feel like the throttle is connected to the rear wheel at all, the power would come in uneven. Finally, I fitted my handmade tailpipe, I had a theory the STIC doesn't like back pressure, all shorties have small outlets like 22.5mm, and STD is 25.5 but long. So with the cut-down silencer and no other changes, I started it up, suddenly the engine barked by blipping the throttle, never had it do that, I was hopeful. On the track the engine came to life, the power was almost instant and way stronger on pickup, like 50% more, I asked my friend to ride it to see his opinion, he says the same, instant crazy power, it is honestly almost too much , the bottom and mid are just not like anything I have ever ridden, then the top goes into this insane scary feeling rev that builds power till you shut off , I don't know how high it can rev but it doesn't really flatten , I'm worried it might be lean but the plug had a bit of darkness to it, no detonation. I rode the 250sx and it felt powerful but less aggressive, it felt slower in some ways but has that big hp at low revs. I can't imagine a more powerful 150 and would not really want one, its3kg lighter than a YZ125 and most have around 10hp more at peak and about 15 hp more on part throttle.” thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/1260081-18-sx150-dyno-tuning-part-2-keihin-carb-and-stic-tests/?page=6

Are those lectron carbs any good? Will you consider purchasing one for your build or you are you sticking with the stock carb?

Depends on what you're goal is with the bike...If I were racing then a 250f hands down..But I don't race and I'm coming off a 17' 450 and just want to work on my bike skills and corner speed more this year so the 150 is a perfect bike for me right now

Everything is stock right now on the bike my carburetor is a tmx 38 needle is the in 3rd position from top main jet is 470 idling is 35 starting is 80 now with fuel engine oil is 15w/50 and on 98 octane unleaded I’m getting new jetting this Wednesday because the bike just runs way to rich so I’m going to get a JD jetting kit

Ahmed Sharara I believe you should get the 150, if it’s too much power or too big, you’re only 13 years old witch means that you’ll grow into it as you get bigger. And once your older you’ll have as much power as needed instead of having to buy a new bike! Ride on man!!!👍🤘
