Alrighty guys, here is our 2018 lawn care trailer setup! I know this video is a little delayed on getting out, but that's because we were still getting snow up until a week and a half ago! This is my 2018 enclosed trailer setup for my lawn and landscape business.
The biggest take away I hope you guys get from this video is encouragement on growing your setup! I'm happy and thankful for mine, but let's be honest, this is all about making progress each spring on your setup! It's exciting seeing everyone's equipment and business grow, which is what this is all about.
I know I plugged a lot of gear and equipment in this one, but I can't be more transparent, we aren't compensated to promote any one brand. We've been seeded product from a few, but this is my personal setup, which I would use myself for my own business, seeded product or not!
Hope you guys enjoy the video and enjoy seeing our setup! Leave me a comment down below on your guys' 2018 setup!
What are you guys running in 2018 for a:
Truck, Tailer, Lawn Mowers, and Handtools!
Leave me a comment down below sharing your rig and setup! Happy spring gang, be safe, and let's all crush it!

Really need to do a setup vid and will soon I think but my main gear I have on my trailer (a 7x5 ex Jim's mowing trailer by the way pretty nifty) at all times pretty much is a 42" McCulloch lawn tractor, Honda HRU216M1 self-propelled mower, Stihl FS94RC, BG56, MS171 and BR700, Gardenline stick edger (well Ryobi edger attachment but Gardenline powerhead), 4-stroke wheeled edger, 4-in-1 multi tool and 4-stroke hedge trimmer and a Mitsubishi TL33 brushcutter. That's my main gear I have plenty more in the shed though. Great work ;D

When I started in the mowing business I had a couple storage units, one local and one in the Flint area. Had one broken into along with others so that was when I stopped using storage units. They couldn't get the heavy stuff like my zero turn Exmarks but took the Toro personal pace and wackers and blowers.

Hi, great video and that is a very nice set up. I hope all goes well for you this season. I wanted to ask you, what happened to the old gas can holders? The ones for the 2 gallon ones. It's because I still have the old style gas cans, and if you are able to sell them in case you aren't gonna use them anymore. Thank you, have a great day.

Nice setup Brian, enjoy the videos.Looking to get an enclosed trailer,7x16.Have ran open ever since I began 20 years ago and tired of the stress with rain and worry of theft so want to change to enclosed.I don't like my stuff getting wet at all and it has rained a ton this season here in Georgia.Couple questions, how did you get the wiring harness/brake harness installed, how do you keep the trailer clean hose it out, ect. And on the wall racks do you have any problems with the screws coming out or loose from all the travel movement .Looks like they would come loose since there is not much behind the wall to hold it really good. Thanks

Love your enthusiasm Brian. You’re a real encouragement to me starting my own Lawn care business in North Carolina this year. Your setup is very professional looking. Do you use the canned ethanol free fuel or mix your own. I was mixing my own because that’s how I’ve done it my whole life without any problems, but my echo trimmer that I got this year got to where it was only half throttle so I took the screen off the muffler and it was completely clogged. I’m assuming I mixed the gas/oil a little too rich? The canned fuel is like $20 a gallon here but it runs clean. Thoughts?

Hey Brian just wondering how you get away with only having a 60 inch mower for mostly residential lawns, do you just not take properties with a gate, would you ever consider hypothetically adding a 36 in stand on or walk behind

Sorry, I just noted that your age. You are doing good though. Investment in equipment takes time as with everyone. Like everything else, strive to improve over time, invest in your business a little here and a little there as the money flows in. Nothing happens over night. Glad to see that you are doing good thus far. Best of luck to you. (Mine is a side, solo business.)

Perry Schmoll It does take time... I usually put 35% of my gross profit back into the business each year. So my first year I only put $350 back into it. And this year I'm putting roughly $7k back into it (which should definitely help me grow!) Haha

I was one of the first to get the 8000 , what, 8 years ago? Before that Stihl was king with a 52CC? blower for about 6 or 7 years. I was amazed no one started challenging Red Max for about 6 years. AS far as anything else red max, I have avoided. Not sure why. Stihl going to 4 cylinder was a huge bummer

I’m sticking with Echo for all my outdoor power equipment but I’m a spec guy & always want the highest CC or HP & no company has the highest power for each category of power equipment, for instance stihl has the most powerful switchable attachment head trimmer but echo has highest power blower. All in all I’m echo as I don’t want all different brands of equipment & if something goes wrong you have to go to different dealers ect.

I am a side hustle guy with aspirations of doing lawn care full time if my regular job would get out of the way.LOL I run a 2000 Chevy 2500 with a 2009 6x12 interstate enclosed trailer. I run a new Gravely 2018 Pro Stance 48", a 2009 Husqvarna WHFT 3617 walk behind that I should trade in on a Pro Stance 36 but I really love the Husky. It is a beast and although a workout to run does a great job and gets me into places the 48 cant get. I have a Craftsman pro series 46 tractor that I use for the rough jobs and leaf clean ups as well as an old 30 inch Honda rider that was my backyard small gate unit until I got the husky but now it just runs the house lawn because I refuse to let her go and don't mind looking like Forest Gump. I run a stihl 130R for heavy work, and a Echo 225 PAS that I use for everyday trimming and edging. This year I picked up a 2620 PAS that I run an edger on and just picked up the articulating hedge trimmer for. I use the Equipment defender 3 position trimmer rack for these. For blowers I run a Red Max 7600 for clean ups and leaf dutys, a Husqvarna 150 BT that is great for everyday lawn clippings and flower beds and a Stihl BG 86 for the crap I missed that or small easy to blow needs like dusting off the mower from time to time. These are hung on a craftsman rack that has many hangers I have not found a use for yet other than the blowers. Obviously there is the regular hand equipment such as shovel, rake, and cans. For the one man side hustle it is overkill but if your going to do it enjoy it. Someday when I am done running construction projects and ready for a little less stress in my life I will close that door and fully open the door to mowing that I really enjoy.

Great set up brother really happy for u. No way I could run an inclosed trailer down here in Florida. I tried but it gets entirely to hot here for that. We run all Stihl smaller equipment ourselves with all Ferris and Grasshopper zero turns, half diesel half gas mowers. We do run all F-250 diesels but I use all 7.3L trucks. Reed max was one of the best till they got bought out by husqvarna bought them out. We also run Ferris walk behinds and chainsaws and polesaws. We don’t use snow shovels though because if it got into the 30-40’s here it would be a state of emergency here lol. When it gets to the 60’s here all the girls start putting on their Ugg boots and winter stuff on.

Another security tip for trailers is to run security chains through one of the wheels to the axle with a high security lock, a set of wheel locks to keep the knuckleheads from taking the wheel off. I purchased my chain and lock from. 1st chain supply, they sell super hardened chains and locks. Can’t cut it with any bolt cutters. It takes a little extra time to do this but it’s a extra line of security to keep these idiots from stealing equipment we bust our ass to buy.

Nice trailer! As a general contractor and someone who has over $5,000 in Dewalt tools, I can tell you stick with Milwaukee. It's too late for me, I have too many Dewalt batteries (14) to switch now. But a guy that works for me brings his own Milwaukee tools, and I must say they are better tools, especially the impacters and drills. Dewalt makes a good tool but Milwaukee is better. Also, curious as to why you have no lettering on your truck? Probably more visible than your trailer as you are always in a truck but don't always have a trailer hooked up.
