2018 New Suzuki Vitara "facelift"

It's currently still autumn...
So the golden color is quite appropriate for a car that will love playing in mud and snow.
Some huge visual changes these are not. The Vitara is still a Vitara and I like its looks.

Good, short review but I think the biggest change to the vitara range is that they ditched the 1.6 gasoline and replaced it with a 1 litre turbo :)

Awesome video. But you forgot to say the automatic lane keep stering, and ex vitara had armrest but only on entry level car, if you bought glx or gle you had to pay extra for it.

I thought I recognised the countryside - Slovenia is the most beautiful country in Europe, in my opinion. Have they improved the sound insulation in the facelifted Vitara?

Isn't the front bumper a different shape to improve ground clearance and articulation ?

Nice review! I have a question about the plastic material on the upper part of the door interior. Did Suzuki changed it on this facelifted model or they just changed the upper dashboard plastic?

hello, what is your personal opinion about this automatic gearbox, is it lazy and is wotht extra 1500€ ? tnx in advance

I've driven many automatic cars and didn't complain about this one. It's fairly smooth, reasonably quick and definitely convenient. Only you can decide if it's worth the extra money, though. If you get into a lot of traffic jams, yes. If you mostly do highways, no.

@@Pit-Stop yeh I know you said it was good but I was hoping for more detail like what the gear changes was like...as in smooth/quick/responsive or slow an noticeable?

@@melondog82 It's a pretty smooth automatic. It's a little bit noticeable if you pay close attention but it's completely civilized. Of course, this is subjective, but I've driven plenty of automatics and didn't complain about this one.

The automatic gearbox is the same as on previous model, before facelift. I gave it a test drive and it is smooth and less noticeable on the first gears. It is not that quick compared to a dual clutch transmission. But if you're not picky enough when it comes to smooth and quick shifts, you won't notice it. I like it.

Test drove one in the UK with a 5 speed manual box and the 4 wheel drive , liked it very much and ordered one which is due in about two months , I can,t wait . It suprised me how much power that little engine had especially with three adults on the test drive ( almost four adults as I am not a lightweight either ) .

hi all, i am looking to buy my first car. my girlfriend really want a SUV and the budget is thight ofcourse as Always. So i stumbeld upon the vitara. i quite like it. But i really dont know much about cars. do you guys think the vitara is a good option? what is susuki's reputation? thanks in advance.

You and your girlfriend will need to ask yourselves if you just want an SUV (plenty around) or an SUV with all-wheel-drive (or maybe 4x4?). Will you take it off-road? If not, you can save money on a front-wheel-drive car and then save extra because you'll use less fuel. I can not really comment on reliability of Suzuki - best to google year-by-year reports by brand for that. Having driven the Vitara (old and new), I like it a lot. It's a fun, comfortable car that - if you get the AWD version - won't hesitate on muddy or snowy terrain, tires permitting. Especially if you get an automatic, but since you've said the budget is tight, a manual would probably be more appropriate.

Like this guy said. There is planty of compact SUVs. It is on you to decide if you want awd suv or just fwd suv. But my oppinion was allways to buy awd or 4x4 when you are buying suv, but if you dont want to pay extra for that option (bc it kinda can be quiet expensive) then go for front wheel drive only (fwd)! I hope this helped!

Suzuki has a reputation for building very reliable cars. They are fun to drive and cheap to service. I own 2 suzuki and they are both great cars. 😁

I have had a few older Vitaras and loved them to bits , also I have just ordered a new one last week with the punchy 1.0 turbo allgrip , I can,t wait for it to arrive in the next couple of months . As a mechanic I can say all my Suzuki models have been very reliable ( as have my Toyota Rav 4s as well I must admit ) .
