I love showing these clips to people who don't know about the series. It's a guaranteed jaw drop. Even folks who are not motorsports fans love how intense and over the top the racing is.

It used to be even better, back when every track was a mix of dirt and asphalt. Now, they might have one or two tracks with a short dirt section, but it's still mostly asphalt. They also had legit jumps, not just ramps.

From what it looks like it could be considered as unfair advantage and they'll recieve a time penalty for that, though I'd wait for OP to clarify

New to this, does missing the jump count against you?

As far as I can tell you can skip a jump but you aren't allowed to take advantage of that to take a position, so you cannot overtake people making the jump basically. From a drivers perspective it's better to stay in the race and maintain the pace than to have to hold back to skip the jump because added complexity like that causes mistakes and can cost you your race. If it makes sense to do it to avoid an accident then the options there.

You have to attempt to make all of the jumps, but if you are not lined up to hit it, it doesn't count against you.

@@That0Homeless0Guy I was wondering and figured that was it because one guy clearly took advantage to get into second, he waited till the other guy landed to pass, but he still gained the drive for the pass because he skipped the ramp. 3:18

@@nicolasdallay2704 No. The truck that flipped over lost a wheel because the rim was simply ripped apart. Suspension components were still fine. Weight increase of a stronger wheel doesn't really matter since the trucks are identical.

Any reason y’all don’t use tethers like f1? I could imagine it being impossible due to differences in engineering, but I mean tires coming off, tires coming off and flying above the catch fence especially, are a pretty scary thing

@@GettinJiggyWithGenghis In this scenario it wouldn't have mattered. The spokes of the wheel broke, launching it off the vehicle. There would be no way to tether that to the car.

Very nice to watch this. :D Is there a penalty when a driver misses the ramp? Nr 55 could never make the ramp, that was clear.

If you gain a position you get penalized. You are correct, #55 should have by-passed the ramp and he would have been fine as long as he maintained his position.

We condensed the previous upload. It had too much 'race flow' interruption due to the on track incidents. We cut out most of the safety car stuff, so it went from 28 minutes to 18 minutes.

Series was created in North America in 2013, so our inventory is all LHD. We didn't start running races in Australia until 2015. The Aussie drivers adapted very quickly to the left side.

They aren't allowed to take a position, but "in the interest of safety" or "erring on the side of caution" they can bypass them.

Wouldn’t have helped since the center broke out of the wheel. A tether only holds the hub with the wheel attached. Mostly only with cars where the suspension tends to break off allowing the wheel and hub assembly to go flying.
