Hello all! I remove the front bumper on my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek to install Hella Sharptones.

Thank you for posting this. I was hoping/waiting for one on the 2018 Crosstrek... Seeing as how their is a different layout underneath the bumper/grill. "thanks"

I was able to just disconnect the second horn by removing the air filter assembly I then tie wrapped the plug to an adjacent harness. all other stuff was done by just removing the fairing. I created my own wire harness assemble I guess 30 years as an aircraft mechanic helped that.

Hi B, liked your video but wished you recorded the wiring parts because for me its probably the hardest thing to figure out. Anyhow the info was good. Can you video record what the inside of the car plus displays and the lighting of the buttons look like at night. I cant seem to find any night time interior vids. Thanks looking forward to your new mods.

Great video! I just installed mine today and I couldn’t get the original brackets off the horns. I ended up improvising and got them installed somewhat evenly spread apart. How did you get your brackets off and wasn’t the ground relay box in the way of the plastic shroud when re-installing? I ended up semi mounting it to another spot. Thanks in advance!

Question about your install: what did you do with the part of the factory harness for the horn under the bumper? I saw the one was used for the hella install, what about the other? Thanks.

Thin Blue Line yes the kit had everything. It took about an hour to do. I bought it from subimods. subimods.com/subimods-hella-horn-bracket-and-v2-wiring-harness-combo-2012-2014-impreza-na-2013-2014-crosstrek-2015-forester-xt-sm-h-combohb.html It’s the previous generation as there was nothing for 2018. You have to adjust the bracket that the stock horns sit on when you install it.

Thx for the walkthrough. What size spacer is on the hood latch behind the bracket? Inner diameter 3/8” by 1” length?

To be honest, I don't know the diameter. It was a bolt from the car, but it is about 1 inch in length.

Another question there are 2 different harness's one with a Male plug in and one with Female plug, do you remember which one your 18 has ?? Subimods doesn't have a listing for a 2018 Yet ..

Blake Young I purchased the harness from subimods.com. Essentially everything was from there and it gives you an option to add it when purchasing.

Daniel Hilo I purchased the grimmspeed relocation kit. The one made for a 13+FRS/BRZ. You have to just use the 2 extended nuts to make it fit properly.
