It's still a big, big, big maybe if we want to get a Toyota LC Prado Kakadu. One of my cousins have one in black and he says it drives like a dream on the road and we'll be getting one in automatic transM cos that's our choice.

Still no big fan of the spare wheels on rear tailgate door. I've seen models with no spare wheels on the tail gate, so what's the difference in model or range and why don't they just keep it that way?
@unwins276 жыл бұрын
Edgar Chieng, Its because the spare wheel on the back gives extra 87 litre in Auxiliary fuel tank, making 150 litre fuel capacity. Also changing tyre when the boot if full becomes easier when going off road with full gear in the back, as you don't have to empty the boot to access spare tyre

Drove one over the weekend.... shockingly under powered!! At this size and price there should be a V6 diesel option available. At the very least they should offer 150kW+ and 500NM+... not 130/450 which is the same as a 2.5 litre 2009 Triton ute. The engine was noisy when under load and driving wasn't that great. I love the looks but until they fix the engine i'll never get one.

@ZigZag96394 жыл бұрын
In Australia, if you want the top model range, it'll be close to $100K/AUD. If you get the first base model, that could be in your budget for under $65K maybe? It varies in all other countries who have this Toyota LC Prado SUV.

Good car.... but I think toyota needs a small SUV like Rav4 with 7 seats so young couples can afford to buy and run..... Kluger, Fortuner and Prado are good cars but expensive, sluggish, not really fun too drive and certainly not fuel economical for city driving....
@ToddHendry6 жыл бұрын
dshiningsword ummmmm they do. Or do you mean an off-road 4wd? Not SUV.
@dshiningsword24276 жыл бұрын
ToddHendry I mean 7 seater SUV not necessarily off-road capable....
@ToddHendry6 жыл бұрын
dshiningsword fair enough. If VW can do it with the Tiguan then toyota should do it too. Totally understand where you’re coming from.

Sadly even though quality wise Toyota is no different to other brands, the name Toyota allows them to charge a Toyota Tax and unless you spend big bucks they trim a lot of the features down. Take the Hilux for example- made in Thailand it costs 30% of the purchase price and yet in Australia they sell it calling it only $52990. The real price should not exceed $32990 given the volume of Toyota sales. This same Kakadu model in the US and Europe will sell for the price of a GXL. If people are willing to spend big why should not the Emperor TOJO make the most of it seeing they are clever businessmen?

130kW way underpowered. I think they need to introduce a more refined 6 cyl diesel
@mikedavison43136 жыл бұрын
careful with the legals. You mentioned leather seats. Are they actual leather or "leather accented"? Huge difference. Read the toyota published definition.

Since when has a proper 4X4 been known as an SUV?
@raaz13046 жыл бұрын
Sluggish engine very much underpowered for such a heavy car, slow pickup and worse when towed and that's only negatives this car has, I'd pick this car over any SUV out there if Toyota can get together and produce a v6 diesel or in-line 4 at least give the prado a respectable 160kw 550nm figure powertrain...
@alanbstard45 жыл бұрын
used to have a v6. Should have been fine for city dwellers. 2.8 is not powerful enough for a diesel that may make long trips

stephen Thomson the ford won't see 100,000k's before its breaking down and having multiple issues. The Prado on the other hand will never die, will do 300,000k's without missing a beat
