I'm a sucker for the beetle convertible! It's how "I" fit/feel behind the wheel. It's really a great fit for a guy that's over 6ft tall! Make it that beautiful green shade and I'd be 1 happy older gent! I need to seriously consider this for this year!

2.5L was the base for the Beetle.

Disappointed they dropped the manual although I'm not surprised, especially in the US market.

so, the TSI 1.8t genIII in the golf line makes a few less hp (170) and a bit more tq (199) than this new base 2.0t which is 177 & 184 respectively...I looked at each of the specs and it doesn't make sense...what did they do to the engine tuning to go backwards...the 2.0 has a longer stroke and a higher compression ratio yet isn't any more powerful than the 1.8t it replaced or is currently being used on other sibling products...if this is also the last year of production, why not go balls out and give people RSi esque, R-line, and other tribute cars/trims; make the new-new beetle something people WANT to buy as it goes the way of the Dodo...or is it getting redesigned for 2019-2020?

VW's bumper to bumper warranty is a fraud! My 2010 VW Golf had the battery die in the 3rd year. The dealer showed me the battery unlike other parts was only warrantied 2 years or 24,000 miles. Yet when I bought the car I was told it had a 3/36 warranty!
