@@petebusch9069 because half of us are into motorcycles because you could ride something like this brand new for 11k. The pull that supersports have for people coming into motorcycles will never be matched by a naked bike. And liter bikes are too expensive

I had a bad back before getting my r6 and honestly. My back feels better. I feel like it forces me to straighten my back and correct my poor stature and in that way my back feels less pressure than even just sitting in my car.

Such a gorgeous bike with an unmatched racing pedigree, I've always wanted one since I could remember but this gen of r6 do get real pricey! I've been bouncing between an fz09, an r6, and a gsxr750 as my next bike coming from an fz07. Awesome content, keep up the good work and thanks for providing us the amazing opportunity to win a bike like this, good luck to all that enter.

I have watched so many reviews on the R6 and everyone seems to agree that it’s a absolutely terrible bike for city driving. But it’s one of those bikes that despite all those, I still want one regardless

Bikes like these have their place on the track and in our hearts so no matter how unpractical it may be bikers will ride. I personally want either the MT-07 or R7 but the R6 has a kit with a look I would love to have.

I think supersports should be keep in the street and track...... they look beautiful and inspire other to get in to riding. Supersport are like a luxury/exotic cars; something to look at and admire for what they are. Having said that; each person should try one and see for them self if the bike/ riding experience is a "thing" they will like. Having "a choice" of what kind of bike a person can get/own and we're or how they should use it shouldn't be something companies or other people interfere with. JUST MY OPINION 😁

I bought an brand new 2020 r6 back then, and I have only put 1k miles on it since I don't ride it much, thought about selling it a few times and now I am glad that I kept it.

I have a matte gray 2018 R6 that I ride on street and track and I love it on both. Does my throttle hand get tired and does my back hurt on long rides? Hell yeah. Does it deter me? Absolutely not lol. I will say, my first bike was a ninja 300 and when I test rode the R6, the first 10 minutes I didn't really like it, it felt big, and the body position felt awkward. However the next 20 minutes I Absolutely fell in love it and when I rode the the ninja 300 to its new owner, basically redlining at 80mph, I didn't know how I ever felt comfortable on it. You have riden many more bikes than me so you have alot to compare the R6 to, so I'm sure it must feel quite terrible to ride on the street compared to a naked bike 🤣 regardless, I look forward to watching the build and hope to see you guys do some cool stuff! Stay safe out there 🤙

I wish Yamaha made a more upright naked with that 600 power plant. That way it doesn't torture your back and wrists on the way to the twisty stuff.

OC: Supersports have a place. Just NOT in a everyday daily street riding/commuting way. That being said I've rode a supersport/sportbike for most of my riding career and got the back to prove it. Still you'd be hard pressed to find a more beautiful bike. The R6 is cult level iconic and is loved the world over. Having had one I find myself comparing every sportbike to it. Aside from the Daytona 675R it's my favourite sportbike. I'm also surprised Chase didn't mention when he entered the highway on ramp about now crossing over the border into Mexico. As that was always a thing in the past when hooligan Chase did any highway runs. So congrats on taming the inner psychopath Chase.

I had an R6 for three years, not my first bike. I wore great gear. Winding it up is a beautiful experience. True, visibility behind is sketchy, so go 117 and just keep everything behind you. I would drag it entering the highway. Any blast from stop resulted in 107. It feels pretty crappy at low speed or on rotten pavement. Keep the arms loose and let it shimmy with road imperfections. Pinch the knees, Zen with the bike. Countersteer, slide the butt. Bikes don't wreck, people do. Never had a "thing". I had a beautiful day on the California Coast HWY 1 near Greyhound Rock and it felt so stable (like sitting on a couch) I passed a semi on the double yellow with oncoming traffic around 90+. Only look at the speedo when letting off. Even so I think I kept a pretty cool head considering what it COULD have done with that power and stability. That was my last big ride and I sold it without dying. Now I ride my Honda XR650L and keep it sporting but mellow. Ride that bike like a circus tricycle.

Honestly i live out in the country and would say Supersport bikes are awesome for the twisty roads! I don't live near a city and would never ride a sport bike in the city, and there's too many idiots on the road in high populated areas so I try and stay away 😅

OC: holy saturation batman 26:38 lol I may be biased due to my preference for smaller bikes but for street use super sports seem like a waste of time and money. Where are you gonna go fast if you're stuck in stop and go traffic in the city? Must be really amazing to ride your super sport at 55mph in between red lights 😂 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t think we had coined the term supersport yet but the 600s of the late 80s and 90s were decent road bikes and had plenty of a sporting DNA. The lazer focused track orientation of the late generation supersports and super bikes for that matter make them less desirable for us aging mortals😟

OC: If supersports weren't sold anymore, what would people use at the track? Is everyone going to have to add clip ons and race fairings to naked bikes?

i think the goal is for companies to start selling bikes prepped for track use from factory that arent street legal. idk the details but theres still the r6 race and r6 gytr that look very sick and are track only

the percentage of people that do any kind of track riding is so small that there's not much reason for manufacturers to really care. if they could figure out a way to repackage the engine in a bunch of other platforms like is done with the cp2, cp3, hondas 500s and 1100s, etc. they could afford to keep making supersports but what else are you going to use those inline 4 600s for?

If you do not ride this gen R6, Traction Control is actually reducing power. Turn it off and you can hear the difference in power...Still using stock grips at 24k miles.

Newr rider question. Atm i dont feel im experienced enough to upgrade from my R3. However i have been thinking about what i would upgrade to and initially i thought it should naturally be R6. However people say R6 isnt made for anything other than track..... Ok so should i go R7?? I cant imagine i should go R1??? and when i upgrade i wouldnt want to go just an extra 20mph faster (my R3 tops out at 104)... so what should the upgrade be too??

You could always go gsxr600 or kawasaki. Those ergonomics are better. But don’t be closed off to nakeds

An R1 is probably just as made for the track as an R6. For a good step in power that you can use well like you said an R7 would be a great bike. CBR650 is always a super good bike for around the power I think you’d like

the jump from starter to liter bike would be insane if you dont have many many miles under your belt and/or if you dont uave the self discipline to keep it in a low power mode and gradually step yourself up. remember that a liter bike is only like 50-100 lbs more but has QUADRUPLE THE POWER. im currently on a ninja 250 and i actually want to get off the street and onto the track asap but thats just me. best way to go is start a relationship with a local dealer and teat ride some bikes that youre interested in. nakeds might be more for you on the street or maybe a ninja 650/r7 if you want a sportier look but streetability. the 600's and liter bikes really are going to be best on track and kinda suck most other places.

Everyone has a different definition of "practical" for a motorcycle. Supersports fit my description perfectly. Nothing is better for my daily riding. Long trips is a slightly different story. I'm one person that is appalled by Yamaha's decision to replace this bike with a disgusting twin cylinder. APPALLED! I'm switching to Honda CBR. They even kept the the under-tail exhaust, another plus.

No......Chase, the getting in and out of that annoying position isn't the BAD thing. It's the ridiculous position that's v BAD; for anyone over the age of 23...basically. The unwinding from torture position is a relief. Strange mentality on your part - please enjoy your illusions.
