Privileged to be at this Final (i was in the Cusack Upper) along with the other final wins over the years. Kerry let us off the hook In the first game, Dublin went for the jugular having got that second chance. One abiding memory is a family of Kerry fans warmly and sincerely shaking my hand at the final whistle. You can't buy class. Tyrone have it now and well-deserved too. Can't wait for the O'Byrne, National League and Championship to start again. Bí Sabháilte 🤜🏻🇮🇪🤛🏻

What a team. Now living in Oxford but my heart is always in Croker with the Dubs. My first All Ireland was 1958 and followed them through 60’s & the great games in the 70’s ( when my father was Chief Steward) but this team is special and has achieved true greatness. On the field and off they are an inspiration to all that’s good about Gaelic football. Up the Dubs!

we share the suffering and the greatness. my lasting memory, is of , Des who played in both the hurling and football semi-finals and his brother Lar played in the semi-final of the football. on the same day. Des was something else.

Don't know how people can get rapt in a game that only people in your own country play or care about that's dull after a while beating another country is the ultimate in sport not playing your own all the time.World champions is far better than just county or provincial champions.

Just watched all the current Dubs matches for the last few years. By far the best team of all time , even the 4 in a row Kerry team looked average compared to them. It will be a long time before we see a team as good as this....from a Louth man.

Was never a big GAA fan in Ireland. But this was a wonderful game of football. The physical fitness of these guys is extraordinary. The GAA has grown and grown (in the right way) in recent years. I wish it the best of luck in the future. By the way, I lived within 200 metres of Croke Park in Emmet Street. Great atmosphere on game days.

Aaron mooneyham Yes australia is full of people of irish descent and they are many first generation out there at the moment and a good few playing australian football professionally because of the similarities in the games.However Australian football was standardised a good 30 years before gaelic so its hard to know.The irish would have brought folk football games with them,but they would have varied in rules and the australia aborigines played a folk football game called mamgrok and some say that was the main influence on the birth of the game.

So now they've become the pantheon, with a nod to the great Dublin of the 70s and the great great Kerry teams of the 70s and 80s...they deserve their place among the gods of sport also u and some have gone FAR too soon; the great Paidi, chancer, Hardman, epic footballer and 😏 animal lover, our oh SO beloved blue panther; Anton.,.and the eternally great David Hickey, one of Anton's closet friends who is left to mourn his dear dear friend and cope with his throat cancer and still find time to carry out vital life-saving surgeries ( and also mourn his beloved wife who was killed in a freak drowning accident ) I pray for them all, my childhood heroes.. and to them And to that deserved Pantheon I thank you ALL for the lifetime's pleasure you brought and continually bring to me.....

As an Aussie rules fan, I have a couple of questions about GAA: 1) can you do soloing like soccer players using only feet or do you have to use both hands and feet? 2) can you tackle a player like in footy or in rugby? How to get control of the ball from the opponents? Thank you.
@anthonym33513 жыл бұрын
Yes you can kick it soccer style, usually a player will then chip it up to there hands. The rules are open to interpretation much more so than soccer and you can tackle as long as its a fair attempt to get the ball or a shoulder to shoulder is allowed to just no dragging people down

As per usual Dublin having to win against 16 men... referee seemingly happy for Kerry players to be dragging out of the arms of Dublin players for 70 plus minutes with barely any inclination of blowing a whistle...if you are green and gold you can take as many as 9 steps without soloing according to this cod job.. a Dublin player makes eye contact it’s a Kerry free.... Some Dublin team though, to beat Kerry, their grim ‘tactics’ AND that cod of a ref and his mates...

@Vegan Teacher Ireland We've eliminated the flu. Let's keep it away. Do you know the flu kills many every year? It would be reckless in the extreme to go back to huge crowds. I expect a return to some gatherings this summer but when cases shoot up as a result and the oncoming seasonality of the flu, i expect full L5 lockdown again by end of September. And then it will be permanent. All of the experts ageee on this: Luke O Neill Prof Mcconkey Neil Ferguson Gabriel Scally. It makes sense. The public are used to it anyway. Say no to superspreader events. Wear at least 2 masks at all times. Report people who think they are above the law. Summer 2022 we might open for a month IF: - everyone man, woman and child vaxxed. -everyone man, woman and child linked to a tracker app/green pass -a points based system that rewards good citizens -repeat offenders of the mask rules etc. To be re-educated in the Rmy camps in the Glen of Imaal, Kilworth, Kilbride and the Curragh We must stay apart to stay together.
