The 2019 Audi TTRS is a speed demon. Ride along with Lauren Fix as she breaks down this little cousin to the Audi R8 and how you can get in trouble with an Audi TT. This being the final year of the Audi TT, does it still stack up?
Sadly only one more year of the TT. This vehicle has a cult following, I’ve owned 2 of them and they really were fun to drive. The TT RS is a powerful turbocharged five-cylinder engine that can be a daily driver, track car or a blast to drive. The handling is tight and precise with excellent traction to the road from its Quattro all-wheel-drive system, optional 20” alloy with super handling grippy tires. All bundled with some of the top technology that’s easy to use and is extremely driver-centric.
The seats are designed to be supportive with side bolster support, lumbar and plenty of adjustment and comfort. I love the carbon inlays, the red striped belts and the Alcantara on the shifter, steering, seats and some panels.
The only thing I noticed that could be frustrating from a performance perspective, is that about at about three-quarter throttle, it seems to have a gap before it goes to full throttle. This may be a computer-related design to keep people from doing stupid things. Either way, it does have quite a performance, excellent handling and stickiness to the street. The brakes are excellent and will stop on a dime. With low 0-to-60 times, this vehicle and certainly play with some of the more expensive cars on the block.
Surprisingly, the fuel economy combined is about 23 miles to the gallon, the way I drove it I don’t think it’s going to make those numbers. But I think if you drive it every day you should have no problem meeting those numbers.

The warranty is 4 years / 50,000 miles, which is much appreciated for a German car that can get expensive to maintain.

Look awesome in red, shame the noise (and performance) has been lowered compared to pre facelift model, but easily fixed of course. Still the most practical sports coupe out there. Just hope Audi keeps making them.

I drive my 2019 RS3 daily here in Canada and equip it with winter tires during the winter. My RS3 is the same as this car. Wonderful engine.

Great review and spot on. I drive a 2017 TTS, and it’s sublime. Few cars can compete with 0-60 in 3.6, traction til the cows come home, and that interior. Doesn’t get old lookin at it either.

It doesn't need a powered tailgate, however, it does need powered memory seats.

Just to add context about the lack of memory seating for those who may not understand - the car can come with optional Electrically Adjusted seating, but somehow the product team did not think to include a memory module to save the seating position. Its well known that having electric seating adds a bit of weight (motors in the seat) but the payoff is that you can set the perfect seat adjustment to your body and SAVE it... in this case the lack of a memory seat module makes electric seating totally pointless... like why Audi?? In the latest generation of the RS3 Audi have finally included a memory module, thank god.

What suspension does it have? Magnetic or fixed sport?

TTRS has fully independent front suspension using MacPherson struts and adaptive Magnetic Ride dampers as standard.

@Ken Befound The OPF can also be referred to as the GPF or Gasoline particulate filters (GPF). They are an emission after-treatment technology based on diesel particulate filters (DPF), developed to control particulate emissions from gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines

Not ruined, it's the same car FFS. OK, they've removed the pops and bangs, which I never liked on my RS3, just makes you look or rather, sound like a boy racer - plus, yeah, it's shaved a couple of tenths of the sprint to 60, hardly the end of the world either. So, same car, more mature in nature and looks better than previous car IMO.

It is not ruined. Not even if you buy a car only because of the sound. Because i think the TTRS with OPF sounds much better. Because the banging and missfiring in the 2018 model does not sound good, it sounds like something is broken. But thats a matter of taste :D

I don't understand why you say that it won't rev above 3,000rpm...... no matter what you do.... The redline is approx 7,000rpm as indicated on the digital display. I guess Audi mapped your loan car to restrict it to 3,000rpm.

This is while in Park - I own one of these in Nardo Grey. When driving it you can rev the heck out of it.
