I have a '19 1SS A10 with a Borla axelback, since my car came without the NPP exhaust and yes, it crackles the same and sounds insane. The A10 is amazing and the car is a beast. Zero regrets.

Just bought a 19 2ss in shock green with body kit. Upgraded from a 14 ss and I love it. Track mode gives the best exhaust sound.

The front end is honestly not that bad... until you notice the small bowtie that doesn't fit with the rest of the grill. I think once that's solved it's a pretty nice looking car.

The biggest part that upsells the 10 speed to me is the fact that it is 100% true manual mode. When you are in 1st gear manual mode it will bounce of the rev limiter until you shift it (eventually if you abuse it sure it will shift). And when you shift gears it is instant shift changes. I have driven both of the new camaro's and am a die hard manual only, but the 10 speed is magical. If you hold gears when you want it can behave like a manual, but without the leg strain and when you want to shift at WOT it will rip through gears faster than I can push the clutch in. Also, if you push the pedal all the way down while driving you will activate performance shift control which holds your revs above 3-4000 rpm until you let off the accelerator for 30 or so seconds. It's odd to get used to, but is phenomenal to use when you want it.

think you may wanna check on that about the 10 speed, the Camaro gets the truck version with different tuning.

i think a lot of that extra exhaust crackling you hear on decel is from the different transmission/engine tuning relationship. Test a 2019 manual camaro ss and the decel will sounds different i'm sure.

The crackles n pops is probably in the tuning because of the 10spd. Those crackles n pops usually come from DFCO aka deceleration fuel cut off. I noticed on my 2018 1ss 1le just like your old blue one doesn't really crackle n pop on decel. Really only does it while the motor's cold. Once it's warmed up fully it goes away....weird

My 5th gen has the same exhaust and it pops and crackles too

Riley, I appreciate the honesty with your comparison and I agree! However for me, the camaro has major visibility issues; that aside, it’s more enjoyable to drive than the mustang gt, imo. Though I agree the stang is more daily livable. The coyote is also easier to make bigger reliable straight line power than the LT1 if that’s your thing. Btw, I’ve owned a gen 6 ss and stang gt as well and currently own a a8 hellcat:)

You should get a ZL1 as your next car

For 2020 they are revamping the front end so that the black bumper is the same color as the rest of the car. It's not great, but it's an improvement over the 2019. They also take the badge off the bumper and make it a flow tie badge on the grill between the headlights...as with the ZL1. They showcased this at the Detroit Auto show in January. This is a lot of car for the money but I prefer my 2018 ZL1. For me, it was worth $20,000 more but I can see getting the SS because sometimes the power of the ZL1 is overwhelming for the wheels and they slip. Either way, 650HP and 650 lb-ft is addicting. Also, the front end of the ZL1 is badass. It's the only Camaro where they left the front end alone...because they needed it to have as much air intake as possible. It already looked more badass and, now that they messed up the front end on the rest of the 2019 Camaros, it looks even more badass than the rest of them. Luckily, they listened to their customers and they're fixing it, somewhat, for 2020. These changes do not require them to change their tooling in the factory... just extra paint and moving the badge. As I'm writing this, I realize that they also did some extra LED lighting around the headlights for 2020...which looks cool. Mustang or Camaro, the rivalry between the two means that, whatever you choose, you're going to get a hell of a lot of performance for your money. I love this rivalry and I may get the 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang for my next toy. I'm not married to either brand, so whatever stirs my soul as I'm kicking tires.

The exhaust isn't different, it's just a different engine calibration for the 2019+ that gives it more cracks and burbles.

The exhaust sounds so good because it’s an automatic lol I know you had the manual before and that’s probably why your getting more pops and crackles because you had to work for it a bit more on the manual but the auto loves to pop and crackle

The only main thing that I don't like about the refresh is the Flowtie on the SS being in the bar, I don't mind it being blacked out at all. I actually like the taillights, I remember reading people complaining when the 6th Gen came out that the taillights were not seperated in half circle/cup shapes like in some 5th Gen and now they modernized that look and people complain, one can never truly win. I do think that it would be better if they moved it to it's proper spot like in the SEMA pic of the one in the new SHOCK color, and gave one the option to have either a full body color bar or a blacked out bar like they currently have. Hopefully for the 19.5 model or 2020 one they do. They better since sales is not what it once was for the Camaro and somehow the Mustang and Challenger is outselling it by too wide of a margin. Satin Steel Metallic is one of my favorite new colors that Chevy has on a few vehicles now including the Colorado, Crush looks sweet as well. Chevy has an orange color one year then the next year they take it away and then bring out another one a year later, such a vicious cycle. Same with some greens. Another solid review Riley, it definitely helps since you have owned 4 of the major bulk brand sports cars, so you can have an highly educated/experienced opinion. :)

So idk about you guys, but here in south Florida ALL updated 2019 camaros don’t have this front end. The front end looks almost identical but the bowtie is moved up to where Riley said it should be. It’s not on that gloss black piece where it currently is. I guess really early shipments have the ugly front end.

did someone put the paddle shifters part the front end, and GM should of put a longer louver (hood vent). Designers coild of used a l.e.d. outlined for the taillights (blackout) with sequential turn signal instead of two bumps each side...it looks like a older malibu with 4 taillights...not good...it needs more than a refresh but a refit

Good review. I think the 10 speed works much better in the Mustang. Because of the Mustang's higher RPMs the 10 speed helps keep the RPMs within the sweet spot in the Mustang. The Camaro has more torque, so the 10 speed does not offer as much of an advantage.

If only Chevrolet gave this '19 Camaro window sills that were 3" lower, it would be a great daily driver.

I love the mustangs 10 speed my real gripe is shifting is brutal in sports + but in normal you don’t feel it what so ever.

Ive owned two 6 gen camaro SS's and two coyote GT's, auto and manual for each... The camaro has a sportier driver feel and better sound than the stang but the horrible visibility ruins it imo. I do like the convertible camaros though. The GT makes bigger power reliably and cheaper if straight line acceleration is the priority. If you're spending $50K, a low mile sightly used Vette is the way to go. Does everything better than the camaro and stang, if you can deal without having back seats and challenging entry/exit.
