It's awesome that they give you so many options when it comes to 4X4 in this. Having the ability to choose 4 wheel lock is important. But also having the ability to turn on "auto smart lock" is a great feature when you want to let the machine choose.

@ dirt tracks television Ok, I'm looking at buying in the near future. (My first. I've never even driven a SxS. I am just going with the baddest. I know less would bore me soon) Could be in 6 months or 1 year. I used to race motocross. Anything I ride or drive and is considered a toy, I go hard. I'm not even sure what kind of terrain I will most likely be in. I would assume, wide open fire roads, hill climbs, maybe some mudding (the mud here is clay though so it's a bitch to clean off), some dunes and maybe get into some rock crawling. I really want a RC, however, maybe I should choose otherwise? I like going fast. I like jumping. I like hill climbing my H2 Hummer. I'm not big on mud bogging. I prefer speed and technical stuff. Think Baja. What rig would you recommend for me? FYI, I'm also 48 however, I also ride a GSXR 1000. It does 183mph if you get my hint. Ahhh, almost forgot something's. I want something I can go exploring in the mountains of Oregon with my daughter in. Tight roads, climbing over fallen trees, some pretty nasty stuff. I'm liking it comes with the winch. However, it's more than likely it will be me just blazing away anywhere I can. Huge wash outs, deep ruts, gravel roads and such. I'm going to buy what I want. Just trying to be informed as best as I can be. Thanks.

Thank for a straight forward honest review. After watching and the respect I have for DirtTrax information the XRC Turbo 64” will be a better choice for myself. I really appreciate the suggestion that the XRC Turbo R is a true dedicated Rock Crawler and not really a general Trail/Rock machine.

@@blkgixxerslvr Always take what you hear on the web with a pinch of salt, people tend to over exaggerate. Personally, I haven't encountered many problems with my 2010 Sportsman 550. I do however know other people who have struggled a lot with their Polarises, and I do think that they tend to break more often than for example Can Ams. Recently bought an Outlander 650, and after having tested new Polaris quads, I don't think I'm going back to that brand.

i like how brp doesn't overhyped their sxs's, i like how they aren't making the can am look good on paper, imo and everyone is free to say their opinion polaris is moving in the right direction with their new 4 cyl engine it sounds almost like an x3 buy anyways on paper the pro r is better than all of the past era of sxs right ???🤔 well you are only 12% right , once again the engine is the best part and the rigidity they added was also a good thing my friends 2020 1000xp 4 seater already has cracks on the frame and trailing arms from constantly riding so good for them for trying to fix that.

Sweet review! Leaves me with a question, though. How is the "smart 4X4" different from the Polaris system that locks the diff when wheel spin is detected? It sounds like it's an open front diff that locks when you get into the rough stuff, but how does it know?
@toma1460
@toma1460 5 жыл бұрын
It senses wheel speed and or lack of resistance . say you're coming up a small lopsided hill and one of your front wheels comes up off the ground a lil or a lot. The machine responds to that by sending most power to the wheel that does have traction until both have traction again then goes back to giving both power more equally.

I just wish they were street legal everywhere. If they were less restricted in where they were allowed I'd buy one tomorrow. I just don't get it, you see them all over Europe, which is arguably far more regulated than the US when it comes to traffic laws, and yet in many states here they are restricted to trails only, and only certain trails...

Wrong. First, this was designed with desert type terrain in mind, not narrow wooded trails and mud holes. 2nd, there are smaller sxs’s with a narrow wheel base that will eat anything an atv could try. The ONLY place I couldn’t take a side by side was one trail where a tree was across it and my cage wouldn’t fit under it. Found a way around and kept riding.
