Yeah i’ve Rode the coaster before, plenty of times, it’s my favorite ride at great America, but the last time I went there I swear those lights in the tunnel weren’t there before-

Sure have. It was my first coaster with inversions - first rode it when I was 10 (didn't become a coaster fanatic till I was 15 or thereabouts). Last time I rode it was when I went by myself in 1994 (I was 18 then) and I remember the line not being particularly long.

I.never.had.any.complaints.or.problems.with.The.Demon.when.I.rode.on.it..but.I.rode.it.a.long.time.ago..when.I.was.about.to.graduate.from.Elementary.level.school...I.went.in.1980..that.was.the.only.year.I.rode.The.Demon

It was actually pretty smooth when I rode it and I’m not blinded by nostalgia either. I’m a teen coaster enthusiast with 65 credits. It was forceful and janky but not very rough if you know how to ride it

I actually just rode it for the first time last week. I didn't find it too rough, but I was riding defensively to avoid headbanging. The only part that really wasn't comfortable to me was the bottom of the drop in the last tuneel going into the corkscrews and even that wasn't that bad.

I absolutely love the Demon: great vintage graphics and the best theme song on any coaster. One issue: it is likely the roughest ride on the planet, rivaled only by the neighboring American Eagle.

I rode this with my younger cousin when she was like 11/12..i was 15 at the time.. this coaster is perfect for youth/teens that don’t want to do the bigger coasters yet... I’m glad they still have it.. it reminded me of a smaller version of the shockwave.

I have been on Demon about 5000 times. My first roller coaster with my Mom 45+ years ago, however, it was the "Turn of the Century" before being upgraded to Demon which added the two loops. Awesome.

The original coaster had two air time hills that were actually really decent. Anyone remember the cars that ran on the Demon ? (Spoiler: 3 different trains were available, Black, Yellow, and Red. We used to bet on which one we would get on. ;) )

Yes, I have ridden the Demon many times ever since it opened in 1976. I rode it when it was Turn of the Century and then as the Demon. The Demon is a fun Coaster even after all these years.

The Demon is the perfect ride especially for beginners. This is the perfect ride to get you pumped for more thrill rides, I don’t often like roller coasters but this one is worth. The video makes it look more intimidating, than it really is. Another thing you should know, the ride does tend to bang your head quite a bit but the thrill of the ride makes it better 😂

I love Arrow loopers, alot of them are being taken down. But anaconda and lockness monster near me still stand and I love riding them. This coaster looks amazing, I love slow barrel rolls.

My mommy rode Turn of the Century on a trip to America when she was 12. That was in 1977. My mommy and daddy got married when they were 16 and 17, respectively.

@@batmandalorian5504 the only real difference besides paint and theming is that there were a pair of camel back hills where the loops are today. The cammel backs gave excellent air time

@@DrDiff952 Excellent. I never rode TotC as it was converted to Demon before I was big enough to ride. Demon was my first steel coaster and it was still in it's prime then with the new paint, demon rocks, blood, and lights; however it would have been cool to ride TotC to experience those air time hills.

This roller coaster is so special because it was the only roller coaster that went “upside down” that I was tall enough to ride as a little girl. I was too short for the others. Eventually got my thrill-seeker badge. I will be 39 this year. Riding at night was the best.

I noticed it. I got stuck on the Eagle myself once. Ironically, it was also the blue train. We had just started going up the 1st hill and it stalled. We weren't high at all and it wasn't a big deal aside from the wait but if we had been up at the top like they are, I would have been freaking out.

I went on this for the first time back in 2019 with my mom. She told me that you HAVE to sit in the very back. We did. Your butt lifts off the seat right as you come down from the top of the first hill 😂 I was so scared but I would recommend trying it.

Rode this today and I still have a headache from how Jerky the ride is. It was really fun though, the loops were awesome and I liked the tunnel with all the lights in it, the design of the area around the coaster really sells the name and idea of it. It definitely got rougher over the years

I passed out for 3 seconds on the first loop, then 2 seconds on the second, and then died when I got off the ride... Why did this happen? Cuz this was my first roller coaster that had a loop.

Cause we humans aren’t designed for things like this and your inner ear could probably not keep up together with blood rushing from your head. On my first looping and corkscrew coaster I always tried to keep my eyes a bit ahead of where we were so I could see what was going to happen. I think that may have helped because the brain then matches what it sees to what it is about to feel, even in split seconds. If you expect something and that doesn’t match what your inner ear sends out to your brain then issues happen like vertigo, dizziness, more rocking and slamming into the seats and potentially blacking out as well.

I wish you all of the best on your upcoming medical issues. I was diagnosed with emphysema and heart disease. I used to absolutely love Six Flags Great America! I lived north, outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When spring would come, my friends and I would plan out our trips there. Plus we'd have a few spontaneous trips as well. Those days were absolutely incredible! God Bless and take care of yourself.

The Demon is fun, but that ride needs a serious renovation to make it smooth again. The ride is extremely bumpy and causes a lot of whiplash.

This ride opened as Turn of the Century, then in 1980 as Demon and got 2 loops. It is tame by larger coasters, but in the 80's I thought it was scary.

Saw this coaster lots of times at Six Flags without even getting on it. But I do know those corkscrew 360 loops (two of them) just before the ride's end. And not to mention you go to the first tunnel before your first great ascent up to over 100 feet before the big drop.

Learned early on to keep my head fixed on either side of the headrest before the screws like the Batman ride. Not worth the pain tho when xflight’s right next door
