Matt and his best friend/stunt driver, Brad, hit Johnson Valley, the home of KOH, to bring you a review and test drive of a 2020 Ford Ranger 4x4. But this is no stock mid-size pickup. And it's not the Ford Ranger Raptor USA version either. Our subject vehicle for this episode has been outfitted with a ProRunner Series 1 package from APG, giving even the revered Ranger Raptor a run for its money. With carbon fiber body panels, long travel suspension, and 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers, is there anywhere in The Hammers this Ranger won't go? Conversion cost is something no one seems to reveal about the APG package. Do love it.

12K. According to the website. 6K for the suspension, 6K for the body work.

@@DemsRdisguisedredcoats i think its 30k+ for full package. no one says. fenders are listed at ~9k, the suspension with a price isn't the same as the one on the prorunner I don't think. bumpers are ~4kish. again not one of these guys with one of the trucks and video lists cost. at least the ones I've watched. if it were

Question: What about bump stops? Not worried about bottoming out those shocks? I'm curious, I've never had king coilovers.

They have foam bumps on the shock shafts, but I’ve never bottomed out that hard with these. They’re valved very well, and I drive within the means of the truck.

I love everything about this truck except the ridge grappler tires. They look amazing, but that's about it. I have about 25k miles on my ridge grapplers and I'll never own another set. Mine are mediocre at best off-road and they're terrible on pavement, especially if there's any water on the road. I've never owned a set of tires that hydroplane as bad or cause the back end of my truck to fish tail, even in a very slow turn, as bad as the ridge grapplers.

Seriously? What did yoi replace them with if you've done so? I was going to buy a set of these i may reconsider now. Hard to get a honest review when everyone is "sponsored" by the brand

@@stephencarbajal5657 I went with a straight mud tire. I now have Yokohama Geolandar mt g003 and couldn't be happier. Way better, on and off road, than the Nitto Ridge Grappler.

@@ds39554 no I don’t think you can buy the truck directly from them. You buy one and send it off. So 30k on the base truck and 20-30k on the conversation

My buddy bought a new ranger and it broke down in a week. Ended up having issues for the following year nonstop problems. Eventually got rid of it and bought a 4runner and said he hasn’t had one single complaint. The straight pipes did a review on the ranger and they had problems with the backseats not working properly folding up and down and then the system and computer was malfunctioning while reviewing it.

I had a friend that had nothing but transmission problems on his new TRD pro. Every brand has problems, the Gen3 Tacomas have issues too, do some research. Sucks you had a bad experience but not all of them are.

My 2020 Jeep Wrangler JL had a nightmare of electrical issues. Transmission was also very clunky as well as noisy. Traded it in only at 7k miles for a new 2020 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 and I couldn’t be happier. So far it seems promising and I hope to get many smiles per gallon out of it!

@@evenflo75 talking about the transfer case in these videos of stock racers they don't crawl they have to give it quite a bit of gas in 4 low to get it rolling

@@myanime101 ah. Not sure but yea in mine in 4lo does take a bit of gas to go. From what I know it's same 10r80 from f150.

@@evenflo75 i like rangers watching them but wheel is strange my 99 wrangler will idle over quite alot in 4 low I think its nearly 3:1 ratio

@@myanime101 I've wheeled mine kinda hard a couple times it does decent, but ifs and rear shakles make it more unpredictable in my opinion. It has next to no flex and like to teeter which can be scary on tight trails.
