2019 Honda CRV no start issue

2019 Honda CRV doesn't start. Foot on brake, accessories come on, but engine doesn't crank. Sometimes will. on first try, other times it'll start after 20 tries.

It was the same to my Honda crv 2018 too. I went to my work and forgot to turn off the headlight about 9 hours. And i thought the battery is dead. I could not start my car engine. It just showed the same like yours. One of my friend helped me with his jump starter cable and i drove home. In the next morning when i started my car, it happened again. i called my friend to come and connectmy car with his jumper again. And i just drove to auto zone and replaced the new battery. It worked and is good now.

Just had the same issue with my 2019 honda CRV, battery was good, car will start with remote start but push button won't work. Check if your brake lights work when you press the pedal, mine didnt and I was able to fix it by just replacing the brake switch for $18.99. Hope this help.

@@santosmacias7089 Brake switch is right next to the brake pedal. It's easy to access it.

My Honda CRV 2022 having this issue. Brought the car not even 2yrs and only 5k mile. 😢😢😢

I wonder if it’s an electronic issue, had an issue this past weekend, got a boost, started right away, did the same thing the next day. Tow truck company said it’s common in new cars and to pick up a charger maintainer. When I hooked that up it showed 80% battery charge. I let it charge to 100% and the issue was gone. Works perfectly now. Error I got was Emergency Brake problem, then Brake System Failure. It’s pretty common, seems like an ECU issue when you don’t drive it much in cold weather. Also short trips.

@@ErIcKtHeBoSs88 Yes, had my battery tested and it failed, took it to my dealership. They replaced the battery under warranty and I got annual service done at the same time, so no charge for the battery test either. No issues since either.

please I have the same problem. what happens I have to work outside the state, did not think I was going to stay for so long. so the car was sitting for to long. well I got my neighbor jumped and didn't work. a mechanic from the dealer told me to run the car. but today my neighbor said it's showing those messages transmission, break, problems. don't know what to do, maybe something needs to be reset. can some6 help me please

@@nixiahinestroza9446 try a battery test, mine was at about a year old and the battery was under warranty. I used a battery charger maintainer in the meantime but I didn’t get charged labour or anything for the battery replacement

I’d suggest checking your key fab battery first if this happens and if you start having issues with the anti theft system. After that check the car battery. This car won’t start without the fab and it can cause multiple issues.

this wouldn't be the case beacuse it is seeing the keyfob the first time when its being pressed there is an easy indicator that the keyfob is working correctly when you put your foot on the break and push the start-stop button people don't realize the keyfob light is actually blinking and also sense this person didn't get a warning about keyfob battery low it couldn't be that

Yes I had same issue today. My car got changed the battery at dealership in the afternoon. It’s not working tonight. My car stopped in the intersection. I waited 20 mins and started again and work. I booked and cancel towing car service. I thought it was the key fob problem although the car was not showing the low battery of key fob.

@@HPDQ yea its the honda computers there are so many issues with honda's cars I still to this day don't understand how there still making the same mistakes even with there auto break system for if you don't stop in time that never has worked in our car i have tested it the light wasn't on saying the forward collision was off nothing but i drove it quickly down a private road i had my car parked in a way it looks like the car was stoped but it failed i had it to the closes setting so if it were to actually fail it wouldn't damage my car or my mothers car i don't know how there car is even safe when it was even poor ratings for the back seat acupents for a side crash test its just unbelievable that honda won't change there ways

Our problem was a key fob replaced that everything worked now the push start is flashing and won’t start lights don’t turn off either any ideas

I have a 2019 honda crv ex turns out to be the battery these vehicles will eat up a regular lead acid battery . Owners need to purchase AGM battery For mine I purchased Die Hard Platinum AGM no more problems

hello friend good evening I heard a question my parents have a 2017 Honda crv touring my parents punished me for not giving me the car and it hasn't been used for about a month and my parents took the key to another house for about 3 weeks he arrived at car to sit for a while but one day I was curious to see what would happen if I press the start button and it started to click click click click on the left side of the steering wheel then I opened it again to sit down and look at myself in the sunshade mirror and then the light in the mirror began to blink and it went out since that day it does not turn on anything or give the horn or turn signals nothing here my question will be that when you bring the key closer will everything turn on normally? Or did the battery discharge??? or cause a short and the car will no longer work help please I'm very worried

Are your brake lights turning on when you press the pedal? Could be an electrical issue with the brake sensor??

Air the battery off and put it back reboot the system by open the ignition switch and hold the power bottom of the stereo for 5 sec it will ask u for reboot say yes and turn off the ignition after it’s done lock and unlock the car and drive safe after that 🙏

My 2016 Honda CRV wouldn't start and my brake peddle wouldn't depress down. Put a new gel battery in and so far all good. The battery was 5 years old, so I'm hoping it was just that.

@@veronicamagruder3360 No Veronica we haven't had any more issues since a new battery. The battery was 5 years old. We didn't try charging the battery because this was the first car ever that the brake peddle wouldn't go down. Had we attempted to charge the battery. The brake peddle would have gone down and hopefully started. Oh well. We will know better next time.

Must be a common issue with push button. My Civic is doing the same thing but only in colder weather so far. I replaced the battery...2 times lol. So it's something else as the cause.

The dealer reflashed the ECU and that seemed to fix the problem. Something with a drain on the battery.

Check your key fab battery. My CRV does this, and has anti theft system issues, every time my key fab battery is low:

Went to take my break at work and start my car 2019 honda civic sport and it had a 5-6 seconds of crank before it started when ussually starts in 1 second wondering if it's a bad fuel pump or filter or just need a stronger battery

@tylertaylor906 it hasnt happened to me since and I'm gonna be keeping an eye out if it happens again it did it around winter time when it was cold so if it happens again I'm assuming it's because of the cold weather.

Yes. The start button lights up when you press the brake.

Battery wasn't the issue. Vehicle was 2 days old at that point.

After sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks after this incident, they weren't able to replicate the issue. We didn't have it happen again until about 3 weeks ago. Complete drain on battery now. They did a software update and hasn't done it again.
