I just purchased my 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L, and the quick run through at the dealership was overwhelming. I found your Ultimate In-Depth Look and I have learned a great deal. The worst decision they made in the new Odyssey is to change the A/C unit and vents. The A/C system used to have a front unit (in dash) and rear unit (in rear passenger panel), with vents in the ceiling. The new system has been consolidated into one system in the front. Therefore, it takes longer for cold air to reach the 3rd row. On top of that, the vents have been relocated lower to the B-pillar in the 2nd row and in front of the cupholder in the 3rd row. So kids in tall carseats, especially rear-facing carseats won't get cooled as well, if at all. The 3rd row vents are now susceptible to spills and crumbs. What a bad decision.

Gonna be heading to my dealer tomorrow. May be swapping out my wife’s ‘16 Touring Elite for the ‘19 EX-L. This vid was awesome, thanks. And on a side note: The honda vac is a joke. And if honda did not step up their game from the ‘16’s, the tv screen in the back is less than dvd quality.

One bad thing was the headrest on the front seats. They are kinda forward where it hurts your neck.

only one thing I wish EX-L had - folding mirrors... by either pressing a button or locking the car.... otherwise it is awesome minivan... oh yeah, and maybe AWD and plug in hybrid :D

Hey Mike, for every car you review can you also review the part when the car is on and you close one of the doors and it’ll make beeps?, and explain why does it make beeps. Thank you

The beeps are to tell you two things: 1. The key is no longer detected 2. The engine is still running

@@taiwotalabi3104 the 99-01 transmissions were especially weak, then in 02, they added a slightly better transmission, and then halfway through 04, they made an even better transmission that was also used in 05 and 06. in 07 they added the beefy ridgeline transmission that is really tough. They had some issues in like '11, but besides that, things have been well.

@@taiwotalabi3104 Yes, make sure you muzzle the VCM with a VCMTuner II from vcmtuner.com, otherwise it will cause engine problems down the road.

I agree that the idea to put an open cup of coffee in the door and SWING it shut is not a good idea. I am reminded of two things... Coffee cups can have a secure lid and doors can be shut without a swing.

Potential 2019 odyssey owners: please stay away from 2018-2019 Odyssey and 2019 Pilot, apparently, a lot of pilot owners have reported that the pilot has a defective infotainment system, it malfunctions, freezes, and sometimes shuts down suddenly, it may displaying “radio unavailable” or “network connection lost”. If you want to know more info, just search “class action lawsuit 2019 Honda Pilot” on google, apparently, a class action lawsuit was filed against Honda for knowingly selling defective vehicles and refused/failed to fix it. You can also go to carcomplaints.com to see the consumer Reports.

Please don’t buy pilot, it has reliability issue, apparently, 2019 pilot, 2019 passport and 2018 to 2019 odyssey have defective infotainment system, just search online, there is a class action lawsuit against Honda for selling defective vehicles, also, the problem still haven’t fix yet, and it’s been almost a year, so it’s indeed a lemon car, expect 2020 pilot to have the same problem. I cannot recommend anyone to buy a pilot or passport or odyssey unless it’s fixed.
