@@zero2sixty244 I was concerning on that too. Test drove a 2016 mdx with ZF 9 spd, the shifting was horrible. That was back to 5 years ago. The new passport transmission is much better tuned, it’s a little bit lazy, but so much smoother than before. I will say it’s comparable to Honda in-house 10 speed.

Not anymore today. Not impressed by the Passport’s adaptive cruise control system. What does a good ACC do? Number one, it picks up the car in front of you with time to spare, and brakes smoothly and gradually if braking is necessary. Number two, once that slower car is out of the way, it gets you back up to speed with reasonable haste. The Passport is iffy on both fronts, in my experience. Too often, it picks up vehicles late and then overreacts, slowing me way down when I just needed a dab on the brakes. Then, when the coast is clear and I’m down to, say, 60 mph from my 74-mph set speed, the acceleration back up to 74 can be positively glacial. I’m holding everyone up behind me as the digital speedometer ticks through 61, 62...63...gah! I’ve taken to handling the acceleration myself, because otherwise I feel bad being that guy. The system works well enough that I kept using it throughout my trip, but these limitations are unfortunate." - Josh Sadlier, Director, Content Strategy

@@msrr1303 you'll have to ask Edmund's who did the review. Sounds like a hodge-podge, phoned in attalempt at a cross over by Honda. The Passport along with Acura RDX and MDX have lost their recommended status with Consumer Reports. "The Passport two-row midsized SUV is an all-new model based on the three-row Pilot SUV. However, members told us that their Passports suffered from climate system problems, including refrigerant leaks and the AC compressor not working properly. The similar Pilot did not have these problems. There’s one way to disable the traction control system. 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode and do the following procedure within 30 seconds. 2. Release the parking brake and hold down the brake pedal 3. While holding down the brake pedal, press and hold the traction control switch. When the traction OFF indicator turns on press and hold the traction control switch again until the traction OFF indicator goes off. 4. Release the brake pedal and apply the parking brake. 5. While the brake pedal is released, press and hold the traction OFF switch. When the traction OFF indicator turns on, press and hold the traction OFF switch again until the traction OFF indicator goes off. 6. Hold down the brake pedal while apply the parking brake. 7. Press and hold the traction OFF switch while both brakes are applied. When the traction OFF indicator turns on, press and hold the traction OFF switch again until the traction OFF indicator flashes and the traction control indicator turns on. Mike P I lived in the Fox Cities area the first 37 years of my life, and I love going back in the wintertime. It’s not something that I really noticed as much when I lived up there, but now when I go back I notice the roads. The roads here are much smoother compared to the roads up there. When you have a 19” or even a 20” rim on a car, the tires don’t have much of a cousin. I’m just saying that an all wheel drive vehicle can get around a little bit better. We drive up to Rhinelander and the Eagle River area, where they get a great deal more snow for the most part also.

It does really, really well in the snow. I live in southern Alberta, Canada and I have the 2020 RAV4 with Michelin Primacy A/S tires. My other vehicle is a 2014 Escape with Continental Wintercontact Si tires. The RAV4s performance in snowy conditions is exceptional. It feels stable first of all. With these all seasons, braking performance is solid, sometimes feeling noticeably better than my other car with new winters. AWD works well too and I have yet to see the traction light come on. Lastly, the creature comforts on my XLE (heated seats, heated steering wheel, heated side mirrors and windshield wipers) really do make it an enjoyable vehicle to drive in all conditions.

I was testing its performance out around sharp curves running 60mph in a 45 when it was raining and that Hyundai AWD is excellent👍🏽👍🏽. Always enjoy your down to earth reviews, thanks. Two quick questions, and this past week’s weather is perfect for them. How’s the heat output? Some cars/engines take too long to output decent heat in the cold Northern state weather (Upstate NY here.). And, how are the butt warmers? Quick to heat up as well, good heat output? Do they turn on with Remote Start? You already answered my other questions on the vehicle, it seems like a great combination of driving, handling, utility, and practicality. I had an X3 before, would like to get into a sportier SUV again, and am thinking the Passport may be the one without having to go into Beamer-land again.

Im a male in my mid 30s no kids so I don’t want a 3rd row. Sometimes I don’t like the murano look. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I love the cx9. Sometimes I get a wagon feel. GC has amazing reviews but it’s still a Jeep and that scares me. Idk. I see them alllll over the road. But for a 2019 GC and with no led headlights. Turns me off. Do love their infotainment on the 19+. But THIS. It’s a Honda. Which I’ve had 2. Currently in an Altima for 10 years now. So I’ve had 2 Honda’s and a Nissan. Back to my point. This is like rugged yet sexy. Love the exterior. Back seems a little plain but it’s ok. The front is meannnn. Love the interior in this. Rugged yet luxurious. Bells n whistles. Wireless charger. The speedometer does seem a little basic to me but again, it’s ok. No panoramic but I can live with that. Love it!! Great review !!!

Lito Ornelas negative. So about 3 weeks ago out of boredom I went to a Honda dealership and test drove a passport. Pros: huge, “rugged”, very spacious on the inside, the technology like when u reverse and the mirrors go down and how when u get into the car the seat moves back. Cons: that infotainment seems slapped on. Like an afterthought. Not a fan. The dash even tho it’s digital it just feels old. When I drove it i didn’t get the butterfly feelings lol. I left the dealership like meh. Went and test drove a 2019 Jeep GC altitude. Not as roomy as the PP. still plentyyy of room though. Beautiful vehicle. No led headlights. Bummer. Beautiful infotainment! Especially in the 2019 bc now it’s that new 8.4 screen that sits flush. Very easy to use. The Jeep nav is great. Test drove it and holyyyyy smokes. That thing has ballssss. I definitely got the butterflies lol. Plus it’s 4x4. Winner winner chicken dinner... 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the win

Consumer Reports dropped 2019 Honda Passport from their recommended list just like 2019 Acura RDX. The Passport two-row midsized SUV is an all-new model based on the three-row Pilot SUV. However, members told us that their Passports suffered from climate system problems, including refrigerant leaks and the AC compressor not working properly. The similar Pilot did not have these problems. When reached via email, a Honda spokeswoman told us that “a countermeasure to address the climate system problems was applied to vehicles beginning in June, and a service bulletin was issued in August. Passport owners experiencing problems with their climate system should contact their authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible to have the vehicle inspected.”

@@DStabs720 ummm...sure. Lexus loses it value just like any other luxury vehicle. So I wouldn't believe the wive's tale about Lexus holding their value. Residual values are set by the banks and the food chain of auction and dealerships just play along to make as much money as they can out the consumers. Edmunds long term test of the Lexus GS loosing over 1/3 of it's value from MSRP. "Resale and Depreciation: We accumulated 20,940 miles on our 2013 Lexus GS 350. Edmunds' TMV® Calculator valued the vehicle at $47,431 based on a private-party sale. The market did not seem to support this price, as CarMax offered us $40,000 and the best we could muster from a private partywas $41,000. This made for 30-percent depreciation from our paid price of $58,377. We were disappointed

@@normt5463 Any German car loses way more of its value within the same period. Also, a 15 year old German car is most likely not on the road due to the amount of plastic parts attached to the engine. There are 15 year old Lexus vehicles that are selling for a 1/3 of their original price with 100k miles. You have no idea what you are talking about. Any car will lose a substantial amount of value within the first 2 years. It's the long term value that matters.

Why did they make this model? They could have just added an Si model or an off-road trim to the Pilot like Toyota did with the TRD. This has the exact same MSRP as the Pilot, it will definitely split sales.
