In this video I go through the steps to install a Homelink auto dimming mirror in my 2019 Kia Niro EV.
I have been looking forward to getting one of these installed after being disappointed after not being able to get one from Kia.
Installation should take about 20 minutes.

Thanks for doing the video. I didn’t have the skill or tools to do this myself so I took the mirror and the instructions to a car audio shop. They used your instructions and got it done easily. I love having the HomeLink mirror and compass display. Plus the auto dimming is very handy.

Thanks for your video, @NiroEvJ ! I was fairly disappointed that the 2020 Kia Niro EV EX (non-Premium) did not include Homelink. However, after a couple of Google searches, I stumbled upon your video and decided to take a chance. The part number you referenced (1R062-ADU01) is consistently $107 on eBay, so the price was the primary thing that was holding me back from moving forward. However, I ended up finding a listing for a B2062-ADU01 that was more reasonably priced. One review of that part number mentioned they installed it on a 2018 Kia Niro, so I took a chance on that listing because it was only $48. Looking at the pictures on the listing, I could not tell what the difference could be. Long story short, I bought the cheaper mirror, installed it, and now our Niro EV has Homelink installed. (I did break a couple of the clips from the shrouding, but either we'll live with it or I'll head to the dealer and buy a replacement shroud.)

Did the B2062-ADU01 use HomeLink4 (HL4) or HomeLink3(HL3)?

Great vid, thanks for making it. Need to do this to our new 2020 Niro EV. It looks a little intimidating when you have all of the connected wires hanging down, is it difficult to get everything tucked back out of sight? Edit: Got the new mirror installed yesterday and everything when pretty smooth, with the exception of dropping a screw from the overhead lighting compartment. Found it later, stuck to the head of the magnetic screw driver that was sitting on the console. And those darn clips for the mirror enclosure - broke one of those too.

Hey there I just found your videos I just got one of these vehicles but a white one just about a month ago but it still at 2019. I am just really curious what you use for your level to charging because we have a Tesla model three so we installed a 14 Dash 50 level two. I have not yet purchased a level to charge cord for it And I’m curious of what people are using. I know it has an onboard charger so I believe you just need to get the power to that J 1772. Any help would be great thank you and have a great day hope to see you some more videos from you

Thanks for the great video. We have a 2020 Sportage EX (no homelink) and the layout looks very similar. Do you know if homelink install would be the same? Also, did you consider any other way to attach ground wire? Not sure that I want to drill a hole in the ceiling of a brand new vehicle. Thanks!

I got confused about the availability of the mirror to have the functions you want. It looks as if the mirror did have functions to open the garage door as well as dimming capability. What didn't this mirror have. I just bought a 2019 Stinger GT and was also disappointed on what the car didn't have. My 2016 Optima was better equipped,

Hey buddy I hope you’re doing well today, I just looked at my Kia Access app yesterday and it’s totally different they change the whole UI I can’t find anywhere where you can find the percentage of battery available on the app anymore just the number of miles. Any thoughts?
@niroevj3477
@niroevj3477 3 жыл бұрын
Great question! It does not exist. They removed it and I hope it was an oversight and not the way the app should be. I have already written to Kia about the issue and am awaiting a response. Good catch!

@@niroevj3477 thank you for the quick response I appreciate it. I am in central California where are you? If you don’t mind me asking. This app just got a lot worse and it was already questionable. It tells me 0 mile range until I update it like three or four times and they have that little stupid picture of a battery with different colors instead of A percentage number. I wonder what kind of Jack ass redesigned it?

@@John-209 I’m in New Jersey. I agree totally about the app. I hardly use it. The only time I do is to adjust the charging limit. In all honesty I am getting rid of the Niro at the end of my lease and heading to Tesla. The problem with all other manufacturers is that they are car manufacturers that tried to make an app. Tesla is a tech company that just happens to make cars. All car manufacturers have a tremendous amount of ground to make up to even come close to matching the tech side of smart electric cars. Thank you so much for your comments

@@John-209 yes model 3. I got the Niro originally because I wanted it as a trial electric car. I wanted an electric car but didn’t know how I would like it and at the time I believe Tesla wasn’t offering leases yet for model 3. I didn’t want to buy one and get stuck long term if I didn’t like it. Like you said the deals were too good to pass up. In NJ it was the $7500 off plus $5000 plus no sales tax on EV’s.
