Learn more about the new Mercedes-Benz CLS: cargur.us/pV_x_
Mercedes practically invented the “4-door” coupe with the original CLS-Class back in 2004, and this latest 2019 model is as striking, as opulent, and as stylish as ever. Fitted with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine paired with a 48-volt electrical system, the latest CLS is also the first hybrid model. With 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, the CLS is certainly capable of some serious speed, but smooth acceleration and a placid suspension make it an ideal highway cruiser.
Mercedes has fitted the interior of the CLS with nearly every creature comfort imaginable: heated and cooled front seats (and heated rear seats), dual 12.3-inch infotainment and instrument displays, and even a perfume mister and ambient lighting. Unfortunately, none of this helps backseat passengers enter or exit the vehicle, which isn’t the easiest task, thanks to the CLS’ sloped rear roofline.
The 2019 CLS-Class hasn’t been evaluated for fuel economy yet, but Cliff Atiyeh recorded 25.5 miles per gallon over 936 mostly highway miles. It also has not been crash-tested, but based on the results of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (with which it shares many components), we expect the CLS to preform admirably. For more information on the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, read Cliff’s full review on CarGurus: cargur.us/pV_x_

Trust me it looks wayyyyyy better in person Specially the new CLS 53 I was just like most of you who are saying the car looks hideous but when I saw it in person it actually looks pretty good, the look grows on you and the interior is out of this world definitely S -class level👌👌

I have owned 3 CLS’s - 2 of the fist generation and one of the current body style. I am loving the looks of this one. I am a little disappointed that a V8 is not being offered and that rear bumper appendage is unfortunate, but am certainly looking forward to test driving one in the near future. It will probably replace my GLE Coupe next year.

ktpinnacle I totally agree but majority of the first half of the review could have came straight out of a commercial.

Tyus Robinson felt the same way. Especially for making excuses for its hideous rear bumper when other US cars have no problem following that standard and not having a growth in the rear.

I’m surprised he didn’t talk about the steering. Every review of the 450 model specifically mentions the steering is lifeless in comparison to the 53 model

I know that the 6 series gran coupe may be older than this new CLS, but I still think I prefer the looks of the 6er, it is one truly beautiful car, this isn’t bad but its too soft in some areas and just too weird and angular in others (the front and back)

Venictos, the CLS is one of the most enduring limited supply vehicles and it's depreciation is uncharacteristically slow compared with other vehicle within the MB line up.

Wow did they ruin this car. Hideous. Looks FWD proportioned like the new A class. $100k and you cant even get a V8. This was a great advertisement though for Mercedes. Not so much as a review. Also no idea why you are using the defunct 6 series as a competitor when it should be the upcoming 8 series.

Blake, you'll have to see the car in person before you judge. It looks nothing at all like the A-class when you're up close. Also, I didn't mention the 8-series because it won't be on sale until next year and no one has driven it.

Blake Swan, the CLA and CLS have always had a similar look, and by design language, they will always share some characteristics. I rode in the CLS a few days ago and I guarantee, there is no confusion between this and the A-class models. The A7 is the only real competitor because it still exists, but the 6 Gran Coupe was created to fill that void in BMW's line up so its worthy of mentioning. Makes no sense to bring up the 8 series at all.

Yes but it is purely Disposable. No chance to do any repair unless you can get engine replacement from junkyards. This hybrid system is 20 years old, just like what Honda Insight used in 90s , what a lazy Daimler engineers.
