I own this model, but the 2015/16 version. Some of the things I up graded (electronic thermostat) this one has so they are improving. CulleyT pointed out some of the problems, same that I found but I don't seem to have humidity issues but then I mainly spend most of my time boondocking in the Rocky Mountains and Utah deserts. I spend 4-5 months full timing each summer and fall. I have taken this rig on the Mormon Trail through sand, slick rock and over rock passes. I have taken it up mining roads to over 12,600 ft into some places that I probably shouldn't have gone. I have had zero issues with this rig and have twisted and bumped it very hard at times. I carry this on my SRW Ford F350 with no problem. The only thing I added for suspension is torklift stable loads and it handles great at 75 mph on the highway or in 4 low crawling over ruts and small boulders. I run two 6 volt T-105's and the solar panel keeps them charged. On those few days where the weather was bad I have a small honda 2000 and three hrs on that recharges them. Great camper for boondocking or in a campground I can't say enough good about how well built it is. Oh...last thing, if you do have a problem you can call the company direct and they will actually answer the phone and put you on the line with the guy who built it...super nice people and a good company.

@@truthseekerhill4262 Mine came in at 3240. I know that the 9-6 se is exactly the same, just a bit shorter. It comes in at 2625 and would work easy on your 2500.

That sleeping loft area looks super-cozy and comfortable. Imagine curling up there with a cup of tea (or a Scotch) and a good book at the end of the day. Looks like this RV has really good head room, especially for a truck camper.

It’s not seamless,it’s 2 piece with a main seam in the middle and trim like the main body.

Another great and unique feature of this company's truck campers is that the dinette table can be moved from left to right to accomodate big people on one side and slim on the other.

That is one of the nicest truck campers I have ever seen. It's packaged extremely well! I liked especially the raised floor not just to have less of a leap into bed, but that storage under the camper! Cool. Thanks PJ

This was a very good presentation video. The lady did an excellent job. I do have one suggestion, plugs at the table would be very nice for any electronics, laptop, phone chargers, even a coffee pot.

I'm still just window shopping, and have already been interested in the Northern Lite products, but having seen more than a few walk throughs... Mrs. PJ You and the crew have done an excellent presentation! Reckon I'll be dismissing the competitors and focusing upon Northern Lite. I apprecitate the the way You speak, like hearing a trusted neighbor speak of something they have been glad to have invested in. I bought a used 2013, three years ago, for $27K, Special Edition 10.2 wet bath and it was in need a few minor things. Able to use it but still working some bugs out, not Northern Lites fault, genny won't start, struts for awning need replaced, the jacks all need r&r, so I have some work cut out for me. Still built like yachts inside.

I think you are paying for quality and a higher resale value.....having said that, I think the manufacturers are charging an excess for "cachet".....I'd like to see another manufacturer copy the standards, and the design, but cut costs where they could without affecting quality. Like formica or wood veneer drawer fronts over beechwood plywood instead of real wood(no mdf!).....might be a little weight saving there too.....As a single person....I dont need a queen bed either....a twin would suit me just fine......:)

Super presentation, hope you carry lots of these units, they are easily the best built RV in North America. I'm on my second one, made the mistake to trade my first 8'11 for a toy hauler ( typical Indiana garbage) had nothing short of nightmares with it. Purchased a new NL again 2016. It's awesome.

I love that the dinette is at the front with the kitchen. If I am ever able to have one, I would prefer to have the dinette be more of a sofa.

F 350 dualy - 40 to 70k and the host Everest - 50 to 60k with large 200 watt solar x 2 and you're set. Also for crying out laud get an atmospheric water maker...it not only pulls moisture out of the air, but makes 1 to 3 gallons of water per day. Its filtered and there is your coffee water, what ever you don't use pour it back into the water tank and this works on any camper, some even come with their own solar unit. Also lithium ion batteries, when the AGM need to be replaced...get lithium ion. Also whatever you choose make sure its 4 season otherwise you will regret it. Another great gadget is a wireless weather station you can hang on the wall so you know what is really going on outside. 4 wheel drive is great also if you want to be off the beaten path. So many tips and tricks, but its not cheap to set this up. I also put a heat strip in the AC unit and have a Honda 2000 generator that runs it all. Propane should be used for cooking and heating water and it will last a long time. Now they have instant hot water. Diesel rigs are much better then gas and last much longer.

I really loved this camper and features but I prefer much lighter wood on the interior and more color inside . I am a female writer and would use this to camp at lakes to do my writing and to have a brighter colored hue to the inside is just more relaxing to me as I really hate dark brown and black in any living quarter.

I love the layout and the amount of storage and prepping area in this unit. Also, as always, the pesentation was flawless and very entertaining. The only ‘but’ would be the look of the camper over all. It looks so dated, the carpet on the floors, the color of the wood and the dinette area… not my cup of tea. I’m a big fan of NuCamp campers and I really thing this one looks much more spacious and functional.

Cold snaps to -20 are always possible. I lived in a large 5th wheels for 3 years with temps down to -30

They need to double the r value and a higher btu furnace. Being plugged in is best of coarse and run electric heat to curb the moisture issues.

Keep in mind that I’ve heard that even in northern Cali or Nevada that they loose heat fast at night. The Bigfoot 2500 series arebetter insulated and have a 30k btu furnace. The NL only have 18,000 btu units.

Yeah I think that campers messing is outlets by the badd to be able to plug in in case you were C pack or you wanna charge your phone so let's seal and stressing on the both bedsides so if you would add that that would be a perfect camper

I think it would. It sits between the wheel wells anyway, but you are talking about a half ton truck, I believe, which is too lite for a serious truck camper like this one.

Many years ago I owned a Pick Up truck camper. Is there a way today to disengage the jacks so the unit can't be stolen while sitting in my yard when it is not being used?

It’s not usually done, but jacks are attached to the camper with 3 bolts and the electric wire can be unplugged. If the remote is not available, it’s a lot of trouble to steal a camper, but it can be done!

Does Northern offer an airconditioning unit? or an electrical induction stove? Is there an option for cable or satellite TV? Is the roof safe to walk on?

Air conditioner, yes. Electric induction stove, no. It has connections for cable/satellite service (can be installed at a dealership, too). The roof is safe to walk on.
