As a bowling fan, this tournament has been the most fun I’ve had watching bowling. This needs to be in the schedule every year from now on.

I’m so impressed at how composed Prather was despite being nervous. It’s very inspirational how he handled all that pressure.

Most of us who bowl have thrown great balls here and there. We just don't throw as many as the pros, or throw them as powerfully. But what separates the best pros in the world from their peers is the ability to overcome their inner doubts and distractions and just execute. Prather had every reason to choke up against a proven great like O'Neil, but he just stayed calm and executed more good shots than Bill did. None of us out here watching can throw it like these top pros, but we can all learn from their mental game.

Yep. They say courage is not having no fear. It's having fear and being able to overcome it. This guy had every reason to be nervous, to choke in the clutch, in fact. But he proved that when the pressure comes, he's one of those guys who can rise above it. This guy is going to win a lot more in years to come.

Great finals. I love the commentators: all they talked about was Bill O'Neill. They treated Kris Prather like he had the coronavirus. It made the results so much nicer! LOL!!!
@Ironfangzu
@Ironfangzu 4 жыл бұрын
That's so true. Watch the whole telecast: They literally raved about how great Bill O'Neil was for more than 5 non-stop minutes. It was like the Bill O'Neil coronation show. Then finally they said, "oh, by the way, here is Bill's victim, we mean opponent: Kris Prather. Wow, Kris is drenched in sweat. His knees are shaking. We're not sure whether Kris can stand up, much less bowl competitively. Can we give the $100,000 to Bill now?" But Prather showed them who was ready to win this night. Phenomenal bowling from the young up and comer.

@@calvinolegnaloc2128 I've been told by mid level pro shop owners that doing that makes more money than winning regionals and competing in nationals. Obviously Fagan wins more national titles and competes at a higher level than the pro I know, but if he's managing something like a dozen alleys, he's doing fine financially and probably doesn't need to be on the tour like he used to. I miss his argyle sweaters too. King of Swing!

With the amount of equipment and travelling, they can write off a bunch of it. I'd say they'd have to give back about $20,000 when all is said and done.

@mattpumphrey2619 3 жыл бұрын
@@bryan_witha_whyy they probably take maybe 2 bags home even tho the had 20 for the event. They get balls for free not counting drilling so it's not a huge deal to give stuff away. So flying with the equipment isn't a big deal. But I do agree that he probably got around $80000 of the $100000

@@gunz300 Okay... I'm sure Tom and his crew are "really cool guys" as you say, but that's not the issue here. The issue seems to be that Tom and his crew don't have enough faith in the great sport of professional bowling and the drama-filled matches it can provide (like this one), sadly isn't enough for the viewers. The former great sport of professional bowling has sunken to nothing more than an amusement park sideshow... 😕
