I have rode motors of 700k miles,40 states, 7 country's and 3 continents. Always sore after a 600 miles ride in one day. Now with the slingshot I can ride it for 800 miles a day and NOT BE HALF as sore as a motorcycle. Love my Slingshot

Next time you review one of these, you need to put a camera on top of the helmet so we don't have to stare at the steering wheel while you're driving.

My brother bought one, my dad bought one, then I bought one. We are cross the states from each other. Happy with my toy. My stepson has autism and loves the wind. Wouldn't work well for him on a bike but he sure loves the slingshot. Talked to over couple who love to ride bike, some can't ride anymore and look for alternative. Motor is just fine and easy to maintenance. Motorcycle battery in it is annoying. Put gas in it at an easy pace, 10 gallon tank. At 6'1" the Windshield is to short. I love it.

I have this exact model. Polaris dialed these way back when it comes to preformance. Do a 1320 preformance header, upgrade the intake & filter, flash the computer, get that junk gear oil & shifting fluid replaced with red line. Nite and day difference. Before upgrades 24-26mpg Speed struggled to reach 65mph. After upgrades I'm pulling 32-34 mpg at 65 and I can haul ass 90mph in 3rd gear. Feels like a monster. Will bark, gets a little scary but fun as hell now.

When these came out I thought theyd be 10-15 grand, not 20-30 lol

I still don't understand the Slingshot. They aren't that quick and the prices are insane. I saw a few ladies driving one of these when I was in Las Vegas last summer... it was 116 degree F that day.... looked absolutely miserable.

People either get it, or they don't. It's just like the people that say why get a Lambo, or a Porsche, when you could get a Mustang or Corvette V8. Completely different experience, and not everyone likes the same things. I don't have a slingshot, but I get it.

If you want a fast one Alpha powersports came out with a turbo v-8 package. It's not a motorcycle in my mind at all, 3 wheeled car yes. A fun ride in the mountains on a nice day for sure

i think they should make one of these with four wheels and more power. It would be a lot like a side by side for the streets. I think a bare bones car cycle thingy whatever you wanna call it would be a fun toy and would selll well if they put it at the right price. The price is a big problem rn with it. You coulf buy a manual miata for the same price pretty much and have the same experience plus you wouldn't need to wear a helmet

It would be nice if if came in a automatic trans. I lost both legs above the knees .I have been wanting one from day one when they came out.They say there is people that put them in . I would like a factory auto trans .

We rented a Slingshot in Gatlinburg, we agreed it was like a 3 wheel Miata. Nothing about the experience made us think 'motorcycle'. It was fun with the manual shift, much like a Miata...The Tri Glide is looking more attractive to us.

Your opinions, objections, likes and facts are very informative. TFL made a good choice in hiring you. As for the vehicle itself, well, pricey for a toy. Engine choice is crap. I can think of a lot of other vehicles for that price I would pick instead. It would be a unique experience to cross off a bucket list of vehicles to drive. But that is all it would mean for me.

You forget to mention all the heat from the engine that comes inside the compartment. Especially if you live in the south in the summer

He doesn't mention that the steering wheel tilts. He also doesn't mention that there are nets between the seats and the frame for storage.

You mentioned the speedometer goes up to 220. But, isn't there a setting where you can just flip it to KPH? 220KPH is about 137MPH. Probably still out of reach, but much more reasonable ya?

Electronic Caterham. I'm still surprised about price when they didn't have to make their own powertrain. I've never seen one in the snow. Looks like fairweather for most people.

Alex, have you ever driven a Miata? I owned a 2002 Miata when this thing came out, and I've owned motorcycles. The SS is like the worst of both worlds. A Miata with decent tires and suspension is far more fun to drive, and if it rains, just put the top up.

If you dont like this is because you dont get the point, the appeal to this is that its neither a car or a motorcicle.... if you see it in person your head will spin with a wtf look. yes, bikes are cheaper and corvettes are pricier but they are everywhere and anywhere... this thing just looks like a lot of fun and chiks love new and exotic toys... i will buy it...

how is the slingshot for a guy that is 6'3" and over 300 lbs for diving it cause i have problems with cars i have to drive a truck

what i find funny is that all reviews of these ( and i have a 2018 SL ) is that they find it funny they max out at 220 mph.... DUDES the vehicle is for sale in METRIC countries also ( like canada ) so when i press the SETUP buttons i can chose METRIC or IMPERIAL... so NO the thing will NOT go 220 MPH but the turbo charged unit will easily do 220kph... as to PRICE... I will give an anecdote... I left the hiway to an off ramp to go home one day after work back in august 2019,,, A 2018 vette canary yellow pulls up along side... I am playing at level 7 on the sound system UDO "I give as good as i get", and the driver of the vette revs his engine... so i rev mine to about 5000 rpm... he rolls down his window and comments he likes the look of the slingshot... his girlfriend ( could have been daughter --- not entirly sure ) undoes her seat belt crawls over him to almost fall out the driver side window to take cell phone photos all the while asking questions about fun factor, speed, aceleration etc... the guy driving gets a shall we say SOUR look on his face... finally the light turns green and cars beep for him to get moving... she crawls back into the car to the passenger seat and buckles up... while this is going on i am getting a VERY VERY SOUR look from the guy... so i give him a buddy jesus thumbs up,,, with one hand and the pistol point with the other hand, and say "" DUDE coulda saved urself $70 grand"

This guy is wrong about a lot of his facts, lots of bikes have belt drive, like my Harley, the engine is out of the Cruze not the Malibu and on and on. Not a fan of this guy.

Does Polaris know its 2019 and we have front, rear, and side view mount cameras now? The bad not-being-able-to-see-the-road-ahead design for example.

saw one of these "things" on the road today. Absolutely without a doubt the dorkiest looking vehicle of ANY type to ever travel on pavement. It blows my mind people would pay such huge money for something that looks like a very large crab with wheels and actually drive it on a highway out in public. For the money you spend on one of these extremely cheaply built ridiculous crabmobiles why not buy a convertible car and drive something with a little class that has to be WAY safer than these plastic monsters. Plus you don't have to wear a helmet in the car but in helmet states you do with one of these things...what does that tell you. NoThank you I will walk....
