Hello you two. I enjoy your channel and sharing your journey. Close your eyes and forget styling and modern design. So what is really so different about this $4million boat? Think of a 2002 Bayliner 5788 pilot house. Swim platform, aft cockpit, enter without steps into a salon with galley at same level. Then 5 steps up a pilot house, with room for 6 to 8. And unlike this boat there are doors on both sides of the pilot house to access the decks. Now from the pilot house, 4 steps and you are on a flybridge, with lots of wrap around seating, with an aft deck for a dinghy and crane. Down below you have a full beam master, a VIP forward and a bunk room. Then there is the foredeck lounging area. So the Bayliner has 3 exterior social spaces, and 2 inside. A late model 2000-2002 before Meridian, can be had for $480 to $700k. You can buy 6 Bayliners for the price of this boat and never worry about fuel costs. I have been on my journey for many years and a Bayliner 5688 pilothouse with MAN diesels, 850 nm range is the best live aboard for the money. There are a few fresh water versions available. It is not even the price of a cheap house. Check out the listings. Perfect boat for the money. I would say that the Bayliner name is a blessing, because it is much maligned, and rightfully so for lower models. However the 5788 was built to a different standard, I sold them back then. A new boat that size would be $3 million. I am going to buy one, for the BVI and my retirement. ( I'm 68) Kind regards from Toronto

A common problem with boat buyers is buying what they can afford, and gererally it involves financing. So many of these boats become dock and anchor Queens. Why? Because the fuel costs are high. If your budget is $1 million, don't buy a new boat. Buy a $1million boat used for half the price, and you can afford to enjoy it. I own 2 Mercedes, an S class and an suv. Both were purchased for half new price. I maintain them meticulously, and they will be good for another 10 years. Boats are not like Real Estate, they don't appreciate. So take advantage of the resale market.😂
