@@Markisha64 Well looks are subjective, more mass gives you more power, fuel consumption shouldnt be an issue if you are buying a 900cc bike, i agree its cheaper though.

@@Diwash1 fuel consumption was was biggest factor when i was deciding to buy. Range on mt10 sucks...mt10 is better bike...but for me and my driving mt09 suits me better

I bought a new 2019 MT09 in April. Couldn't take that seat. Too hard. Purchased the OEM upgrade. Fantastic. What Yamaha did was give us a great engine and based everything else to keep the price down. This bike is too good for that. Add the premium brakes, seat, and LCD.

Bought my first bike last year at 48 years old (2018 Kawi Vulcan S, great bike BTW) and put 6k miles on it. Just traded it in April 17th for a 2020 matte black 09. Oh myyyyy.. What an absolute blast! Love it! 600 miles in the first week, just can't get enough! Great review!

I have this bike. Just saw your review. 1st. The first thing you need to replace is the suspension. It is the absolute worst thing on this bike. K-tech or Ohlins suspension will fix this problem. Next will be the exhaust. Id go Akropovic exhaust full system. Also the T-rex frame sliders. With all this your good to go.

I just got mine in september. I'm thinking about ohlines front shock inserts. I wish I knew the horsepower difference between the ecu flashed vs power commander 5. I like the m4 exhaust. What have you done to urs?

Thank you, this was a perfect review for me. I have an 2017 FZ-10 and am looking at the 2019-2020 MT-09. So this was great to hear from somebody with the same bike for comparison.

I was really disappointed that they didn't offer the yellow for the 2019 model, I ended up going with the blue instead. Really enjoying the bike so far, but imo you can tell exactly where Yamaha cut corners to keep the price down. For example the handgrips, and all the controls on the handlebars in general. The seat is not the best although I'm getting used to it. Finally out of break in at 1400 miles, she's a beast.

It's because quick shifters cost money, and for the street most people don't give a shit about them. And the MT line are not track bikes... pretty simple my man

@@bobfrankfurt9449 I'm sure it won't hurt to open it up every now and again. I've heard the majority of the breaking in happens within the first 50 miles where you seal the piston rings. Look up motoman break in. He recommends to run it hard for the first few miles to fully seat the piston rings.

Break in is for the breaks and tyres to wear in not the engine hence the name , once done enyoy

How do you feel about the front suspension? I know that pre 2017 a lot of people complained that the front suspension was way too soft. But that was supposedly fixed 2017 and up

I have the 2017 and the front suspension is adequate, pretty comparable to most performance bikes. The problem is the rear suspension as it SUCKS.

I just sold my mt 07 and bought a new matte black mt 09. The difference in power is intoxicating. Once I rode my neighbors mt 09, I knew I wanted one. I dont recommend it though if you are a new rider.

Gurpal Singh sure I would. I have had several different types of sportbikes but the power and torque of the Yamaha triple is awesome. These motorcycle have instant torque compared to my old cbr 600rr.

Yes, the new mt-10s come with one from the factory. But mine didn’t have one so I had to install one

deer_slayer80 the weird thing is that the QS was made by and shipped from Yamaha so it is a genuine Yamaha part but it can still be clunky

When you are accelerating you press up on the shifter and it’ll shift and you don’t have to let off the accelerator or pull in the clutch

My personal opinion is yes, they are two very different animals and you’d enjoy the MT. it’s a solid upgrade in my opinion

Which GSXS did you had? 750 or 1000? How did they compare to the MT09? I'm in the market for a newish naked bike since I'm ready to sell or trade my Monster 696 and I'm looking for either a MT09, XSR900 or Z900RS. But I like the Suzuki as well.

It really depends what you’re going for but if you want better fuel economy with still a lot of speed go with the MT-09 and save the money for an exhaust for it ;)

XInFamousEliteX I mean it’s still fun to ride even when you’re not ripping on it cause you’re breaking everyone’s neck cause they don’t expect a bike to sound like that. But it took me a while to get used to the height of it so I could get more comfortable in the corners but overall since fuel economy isn’t a factor I’d definitely go with the MT-10 ;)

I recently bought one, same as the one in this video and it's AMAZING! Coming from a 2001 klr 650 with 42 hp to this bad boy. Was a bit nerve racking at first till i got a feel for the clutch and the throttle response. Went from b mode to A mode in 3 days and now it feels natural, full control of the bike. This bike is a keeper for sure.

@@offroadvehiclelover How many miles did you have on your klr before moving up. I have a dr650 and really want an mt10 or 09.

@@ToxicF4TE Put in about 8k miles before moving up, I've learned so much on that bike during that time. Klr650 for highway riding is super sketchy since it barely has any pull. Mt09 is more than enough for me, mpg is 45 to 53 depending how hard i ride it, pulls really hard any gear in A mode. Mt10 mpg is 30 something, keep that in mind.

The MT-09 would definitely be a solid upgrade. Rides the same but it punches a hell of a lot harder

@@theprofessionaldillweed6235 I had my Ninja 300 for a year and I have had my fz for over a year now I am going to do one more year riding the 07 then I wanted to upgrade see how the 2020 model looks. The 10 was a little bigger and the cruise control is what sold me. I considered the nine, but I figured I wanted the extra 30whp

What. You have to confirm that you realy right about the QS. Since 2017 all MT09s has a QS. Atleast in Europe and USA.

Why you need quickshifter? It was proven slower than clutchless shifting and I saw lot of failures of the electronics.
