Hi Fintan, I didn't do the roof no. I did walls only but then also did the under neath, I didn't do actual insulation glued under to the floor but instead used insulated box profile sheeting that I cut in half to around 500mm and then boxed off underneath, this is critical (not in videos, as it was a year later). Makes the place so much warmer. Your options for the roof, are really just do a new roof like box profile sheet straight over with beams etc. Or fit ply lined insulation board inside the roof, but you'll loose 25mm or so.

My chasis is also rusty and flaky but it is solid. Flaky paint / surface rust can be fixed quite easily HOWEVER, If it's corroded and weakened it could give you all sorts of problems, only way to sort is get under and weld it which realistically could quite easily write off the caravan as it's a nightmare to do. Could maybe bolt new steel on but again nightmare. Be wary off this, get your screwdriver out and start jabbing the rust, should have steel behind it. Especially if your going to do what I did and pile weight on and or move it in the future, things to consider....

@@MrYobo666 it is not surface rust it is falling apart in places and wheel looks like its going to fall off the guy l am buying it from said he will fix it before it comes as he sells them for a living but l am doughtful.

Jay, didn't bother with new doors, there just painted. You talking about the small inside doors yeah, to bedroom / bathroom etc? Why are you replacing them?

C20 YOB yes i was meaning the bedrooms and toilet one’s. it’s just the 6 panel one’s i was thinking about nothing special just to make it look a bit modern 😂

In that instance you would probably be as easy/cheap (especially if your doing it yourself) just making them from mdf/ply, you'd get 2 per sheet, so you could probably make a set of 6 for under £100, if your also going to that effort you could use the off cuts to 're do above the doors so you don't have that curved door frame, or just as cheap easy using round nose skirting stuff, met again is really cheap...

The plywood for the front window was all 9mm just to add some strength for the big window I put in, everywhere else is 4mm ply to replace anything I've removed. The cladding boards on the out side are 19mm Pine sawmill cut sarking boards...

C20 YOB is plywood better to use rather than mdf ?

If it's inside and painted etc. It won't really matter, but ply does have a better strength to weight ratio which is what your after really....
